pilsnerrogge (1578), Finspång, Sweden Jun 14, 2002 One of my absolute favorites! Biig and loooong hoppy bitterness. DrBeer (744), Danderyd Stockholm, Sweden Jul 29, 2002 Light copper with decent white head.
Malty aroma with apple and flowey notes.Sweet and fresh with some tones from the Cascade hops. Fruity and complex.
The flavor is big with honey, hops, grapefruits, apricots, mineral and heather.
malty complex falvor with huge hop finish.
One of my absolute favorites. bark (255), Linköping, Sweden Oct 2, 2004 Updated: Feb 20, 2005Bottle The colour is pale copper – with a tone of amber. The hard foam (the amount of foam that builds when you pour the beer into a glass is almost excessive) is medium thick.
The smell is powerful, almost pungent and sour with lots of malt and several types of hops. There are notes of rye bread and leather.
The carbonation is fresh and well balanced.
The taste is at first bittersweet, then a complex bouquet of different malts and hops, there are tones of cucumber, diacetyl and dried leather. For now, I cannot describe the malts and hops involved – I have to rewrite this text at a later time.
The aftertaste is surprisingly soft and mellow for the potent taste, and there are sour flavours of honey and lots of hops.
A helluva beer, as the slogan says? Most definitely. larsam (127), Southampton, England Oct 9, 2005 Rated @ Stockholm beer festival. This has been one of my favourite beers for a while. The colour is clear golden with a firm long lasting head with excellent lacings. The beer is totally dominated by the cascade hops, but enough malt is used to bring it to balance. Yummy! Nate (2212), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 27, 2004 Nice hoppy spicy aroma, light malts. Grapefruit, hop oil, like an IPA. Clear golden amber with creamy white lacing head. Medium watery body with medium-high carbonation. Starts with hoppy fuiy character, light malts. Hoppy bitter finish and after, though rather and refreshing. Very nice beer.
