Jeppe (2634), Ølbutikken, Denmark Dec 5, 2004 Vintage 2001 - expired 07/01. Muddy brown colored with a thin disappearing tan head. Very full and heavy aroma with penetrating notes of chocolate and caramel. Somewhat vinous with notes of fruit also. Flavor is mostly sweet but with a bitter end. Chocolate, malt, earth, nut and spices. Little harsh with tones of cellar. Good taste, but quite extreme and heavy. Shows signs from the age but still very interesting. JCW (1258), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jun 4, 2003 Slightly cloudy, light brown color. Malt aroma. Some bitterness, but mostly malt on the flavor. Dry finish. Good Beer. pilsnerrogge (1549), Finspång, Sweden Jun 15, 2002 Malty, full-bodied & flavour-full. Long, nice bitter finish. duff (5402), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Apr 17, 2002 Deep red-amber colour, head doesn’t last long. Slightly rich, syruppy, sweet, but none of these are cloyingly so. A bit of berry fruits and hints of spice at the front, quite malty, and the finish is short to medium in length, which isn’t a bad thing at all, a very well made beer. jbrus (4018), Delft, Netherlands Apr 15, 2002 Not a very strong aroma with light caramel, light pine. Dark amber, white frothy head which diminishes fast and leaves no lacing. Sweet, good hops with a little perfume taste. Full body. Long sticky finish, sparkling and hoppy.
