Bottle on the Poland stand at World Travel Market 2013, Excel Centre, London. An amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sweet, caramel type aroma. Taste is similar, sweetish, caramel, malty. Not my cup of tea to be honest.

Bottle. Aroma: dark malt, caramel, a bit of fruity notes. Clear, copper colour, with decent head. Light sweetness, nearly no bitterness. A good one.

500ml bottle. Clear copper color. Small white head, stays. Very malty, metallic, earthy aroma. Sweet, juicy, burnt caramel, malty and flour in flavor. Apples in aftertaste?

500ml bottle (Chmielarnia, Warsaw)
Ewwwwww, that’s an off aroma. Nice reddy amber, persistent tight off-white head. Ewww, lactic sourness in the taste too. But a very nice roast . Shame about the sourness, I can tell there’s a nice dark beer behind the flaws. The finish is actually very nice, the fullness of the roast covers the tongue. Nice nutty finish. The lacticity probably improves the fullness of the palate. I would like to have this fresh as the brewer intended.

The head is unrobust, the body red-brown. It smells sweet-malty, a bit like kwass, raisins. The taste is kwass, sweet, raisin, malty. Not an Altbier! 12/8/8/8/12/8

bobroman (382) - Torun, POLAND - JUN 2, 2013
Slightly diacethyl aroma, not disturbing but covers hints of malt and caramel. Small head, quickly dissappearing. Dark amber, hazy body. Sweet caramel and malty taste together with delicate fruit sourness. Quite good, much better than the first try which was a butter bomb.

Bottle (from Ministerstwo Browaru, Poznan). Started very sour (unripe fruit). In the finish, the sourness was accompanied by aggressive tartness which occupied my taste buds for several minutes. Had nothing in common with a Düsseldorf Altbier though the label vaguely refered to Düsseldorf. Something must have gone completely wrong with this beer or at least with my bottle... As the other ratings are rather positive, I guess it was my bottle only. Still, I’d rather not try another one in the near future.
