UPDATED: JUN 24, 2012 Colour - red, not a whole lot of head, hoppy aroma with maybe a bit of caramel, simple and classy. Taste is a mix of classic, german hops and biscuity malts - nice and simple. Good beer, not amazing, but definitely good.

2012-07-08. Bright copper/amber body with a modest beige head. 3+ Malty aroma, toasty malt and caramel touches. Similar flavour, malt forward with light bitterness and a mild tangy quality to it. Average bodied palate. Decent, enjoyable. Bottle shared by Radek

Bottle. Light brown with a small head. Quite pronounced aroma, dominated by dark, toasted malts. Toffee, some nuts and raisins, fruity hints (strawberry?) and a good dose of green hops. Quite a solid body, this beer is everything but dry. Sweetish with hints of dried fruit, medium bitterness, toasted aftertaste with nuts and raisins. It seems to have some esthers left which makes it some sort of a crossbreed between a German and an English ale. And a very good one at that.

motelpogo (6700) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - DEC 5, 2012
bottle, picked up at prague alefest at klub hoodoo. quite a faithful rendition of a duesseldorf alt - murky light brown with a lingering off-white head; aroma of slightly sweaty, sweet caramel and vanilla; hints of mulch, buttery banana and lightly metallic bitterness. a fair effort

Radekfest 2012 – Bottle 500ml
Aroma fresh, clean crisp hop feel. Proper true hops used for style. Sweet caramel backing. Bready malts at finish.
Appearance clear, amber brew with medium beige , slightly creamy cap.
Flavor and Palate : malty front, slight creamy hints. Mild with proper to style bitterness. Nutty hop character. Medium low carbonation. Semi-dry hints behind. Good, not best Alt but solid interpretation. Reminded me a bit of Schumacher Alt.

0.5 bottle. Aroma is hop with a lot of grass but dark roasted malts predomnate the scent with sweetness, also some bark can be felt alongside. Fine dark amber color, clear with an off-white head of average size and retention. Taste is bitter cognac-like with some malty sweetness present alongisde. Medium body, creamy and slightly thick texture with a tad less than average carbonation. Finish is bittersweet, resembles a less intricate and much sweeter version of cognac blended with some whiskey, minutely too bitter. Overall the beer is pretty good, quite alcoholic but not to a fault, definitely very malty, slightly too much sugar left unconverted into esthers. Could work as a substitute for cognac when getting drunk is simply inappropriate but etiquette demands not to be standing empty handed.

geophagus (244) - Lubin, POLAND - AUG 26, 2012
Dark copper color, clear, light beige medium rapidly falling head becoming a foam. Medium body, medium carbonation, short to medium long finish a bit bitter. Aroma: Malty with fruity notes (red fruits), a little bit hoppy, grassy hops. Taste: Malty, caramel malt, low to medium roastiness, medium bitterness, soft taste of aromatic hops. First Polish Altbier, more malty than hoppy character.
