500ml bottle. Hazy brow color with small beige head. Sweet-sour aroma. Strange mixture of caramel, vinegar, yeast and malt. The taste is very complex, a mixture of caramel and fruit sweetness and strange sourness. It could be that the beer was spoiled. Very strange for a trapist beer.

It is not dubbel first of all, and not a good beer anyway. Claimed to be Belgian abbey style, but Belgian notes hardly found here. Aroma of bread and honey, sweet, no hops, low bitterness.

Piwo kupione w Tesco.

Piwo bez historii.

Aromat przyjemny, brzoskwiniowy, owocowy. Alkohol nie wyczuwalny. Kolor czerwono-brunatny. Zmętnione. Piana nie najgorzej oblepia szkło. W smaku słodkie, goryczka bardzo lekka.

Aroma: roasty, sweet, cereal and unfortunately something like solvent or butapren glue. I burped with this... Appearance: dark amber, very cloudy, creamy head but not rich. Taste: equally sweet and bitter. Slightly watery. Palate: average carbonation and body. Average.

Ładna etykieta, gorzej z piwem. Estrowe piwo, ale bardzo alkoholowe, aż wadliwe.

kafarion (110) - POLAND - AUG 23, 2014

Aroma - sugar blows you in the face, then there is some caramel and diacetyl, and after that - fruits. Plums and raisins, some breadiness, maltiness (sorta dusty).
Looks more appealing than it tastes, beautiful, puffy head with pretty good lacing and good retention. Caramel-colored, hazy body.
Tastes sweet and bitter, with massive caramel sweetness and pretty high (for the style) bitterness. Flavour is mostly dried fruits, ordinary caramel/sugar, burnt sugar.
Palate is rather simple with much sugar and earthy hoppiness on it.

It’s nowhere close being a proper trappist ale, but at least they tried. Not bad.
