3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared with JMD at HNB. Foamy and uneven off-white head. Fine lacing. Aroma of noble pilsner hops and slightly caramelized malt. Malt in aftertaste. A lovely and well-balanced pilsner, with pronounced taste of malt, balanced with hops and bitterness. High quaffability!

Flaske fra Ovesens håndimport, på Holmens påskeaktivitetsdag: klar gylden med tett hvitt skum som varer. Edelhumlearoma og raffinert smak med blomstereng i beste mellomeuropeiske stil. Elegant balansert ettersmak. Nr.9 til å rate denne.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
South Africa has a fair share of uninspired craft lagers, but this one is impressive. Pours a deep clear golden with small white carbonating head. Lacing too. Aroma is floral and spicy noble hops and some cardboard. Nice palate. Aftertaste is a solid floral hop bite for a lager. Overall: Very nice. Clean, good presentation and nice hop balance.

Pale blond color. It’s a dry beer, with corn character. Bad.

This a pretty fine lager and superior to anything available from its bigger South African bullies.
I have had both kegged and bottled versions. The kegged version had a great formy head which held up almost all the way to the end of the glass leaving a nice lace behind.
Much more malty than expected, almost akin to a Munich Hellas than a traditional SA lager. Starts off a little sweet, finishing quite dry. Light floral hops.
Will definitely be quaffing this more :)

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pours pale yellow/golden with little head, quickly dissipating. Little aroma of sweet malt. Flavor is light malt, a bit sweet. Fairly carbonated. Very easy to drink. Good for the style. Good for South Africa.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
(Bottle 34 cl) Pours a clear, deep golden with a small, white head. Lightly tart aroma and some floral accents. Medium body with a good malt feel and a distinct touch of aroma hops before a short, dry finish. The beer has an underlying tartness that is acceptable as of now, but I doubt it will be by expiry date July 08. However you do get the feeling of better raw materials in this one. 170508

One of the best beers I’ve tasted coming from South Africa. Let’s hope we see more from these guys.
