BlackDonald (724), On a beer trip all over the USA, California, USA Jan 29, 2008 This was was very eh. A very typical American take on a Belgian. A very pretty straw color with a small light head. Cookie dough nose, with some fresh hay, clove and banana. Slightly sour, with a bit of a bubblegum flavor, finishes slightly dry and chalky. tronraner (1372), (Louis-, Sevier-, Knox-)ville, Tennessee, USA Nov 9, 2007 Draught at the brewpub. Pours brilliant gold with tight but small white head. The aroma is mellow banana, some cookie, light sugar, and some straw. The flavor is slightly tart with some yeasty banana and clove notes. The finish gets a bit grainy. The aftertaste is dry, but subdued by some lingering sweetness. Alcohol comes out as it warms. Not too bad. NachlamSie (1309), Tennessee, USA Nov 9, 2007 draught. Pours. . gold! The aroma has hints of banana, hay, wood, maybe a tiny bit of sourness. The flavor is much sweeter than the aroma would lead me to believe, though it’s certainly not cloying. I get residual funk in the finish with a sweet, fruity bouquet up front. Carbontation is minimal. Honey flavors seem to wash over any sour/acidic notes that perk their head up. Pretty decent brew, certainly enjoyable. Jmichael (529), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Oct 11, 2007 close to a Duvel, which is what the brewer was trying for, pours a semi cloudy gold with high fluffy head, sweet cramy mouthfeel, fluffy sweet finish. tis good. kp (6000), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 30, 2007 Date: 09/22/2007
