porter4porter (21), Florida, USA Mar 26, 2008 Pours dark with a tan head, Roasty aroma, tobacco, chocolate flavors w/ a caramel/toffee and coffee finish, excellent imperial stout w/ overall creamy texture NicerInPerson (334), North of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Feb 20, 2008 The aroma was roast, tobacco and dark chocolate, while fruity with a coffee nature and a low aromatic presence. Caramel emerged at the beer warmed. The aroma was ashy with some alcohol. The beer arrived black with a brown lasting head which laced the glass. The flavor was strong with dark chocolate and light espresso coffee with dark fruits, raisins and prunes, and a light flavor of alcohol along with an acrid roasted grain presence. The finish was dry with lasting nice espresso roast and dark chocolate into the aftertaste and beyond. The body was full with a low carbonation and a creamy full texture on the palate. A nice Imperial Stout, better as it warmed and with some strong warming effects of alcohol. Half-pint at Dirty Jacks. shp555 (1347), lilburn, Georgia, USA Feb 17, 2008 Pours a black color with a brown head. Aroma is chocolate, roast, caramel, plum, and coffee. Flavor is malty, caramel, chocolate, roast, some coffee, and a bitter finish. unclemattie (1521), Georgia, USA Feb 14, 2008 Clear glass Growler. Dark black pour, light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt. TheBeerCellar says its skunked. Wrong! I love it perfect. Nicely hopped. Heavy bodied, syrupy. Nice. Sammy (2969), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 10, 2008 A growler brought to the Atlanta Ale meeting. Bourbon and chocolate and roastiness in the aroma. Dark brown with drops of lace. Hoppy with appropriate carbonation. Rich at the finish, yeast and coffee observed on the way. Also more bitter as it goes. More like an imperial porter, and complex and enjoyable.
