black, thin tan head with lots of lace,
odorless,
velevt smooth cask body,
nice chocolate flavor, hint of sweetness, light bitter finish, great chocolate flavor but picking up a hint of that same strange house sweetness as in the imperial stout

Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jan 3, 2005 On tap at the Jack of the Wood. They call this a carab-maple porter these days. It is 5.6% abv with 30 IBU’s. It is mahogany- the color of plastic guitar picks. A slight coffee-like aroma exists. Thin body. A syrupy sweet flavor. Quaint bitter aftertaste remains on the tongue. General_Gao (2568), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Jun 10, 2006 Darught at the brewpub. Clear, dark brown color with thin tan head. Smells of anise and toasted bread. Bitter dark chocolate malt flavor. Dry with roasty bitterness at the end. Aurelius (2507), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Dec 30, 2006 Muted patent malt and cereal aroma with light fruit. Deep, clear, rootbeer-colored, lasting tan head. Nicely balanced, lightly sweet, mild creosote, almonds, sulphurous undertones. Medium body, though the mouth was frothy feeling. Finishes tangy and lightly fruity on top of a buffered roast bitterness. Best beer that they had on tap.
