1.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
UPDATED: JAN 22, 2012 Draft from a fresh growler. Pours hazy amber with an ivory head. Aroma of toffee and plastic. Overattenuated, with the residual sugars pretty much gone (killing the maple), and many off favors on the finish. Tons of problems with this one. Sorry girls, I love what you two are doing with your marketing, but this was a drain pour. I hope you will consider going back to the drawing board on this one, otherwise you may have a hard time getting residual sales (no one wanted to finish this growler). Good concept, not so great results :( But I will continue to try more of your stuff as it becomes available at bars and beer stores (looking to try the Rye next). I am a firm supporter of local breweries. Just trying to provide HONEST feedback.

Sweet on the nose. Some maltiness. Subtle, underwhelming. Like the idea of the beer more than the actual beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft - Sweet toasted grains. Clear dark amber with a rich beige head. Toasted malts and a bit nutty with maple in the finish. Not a fan of maple beers, but expect to taste it more than I am in this.

Flight at heaven and ale with Brian. Maple/sweet aroma and taste at first but not overpowering. Great finish. Thick beer. Very good.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft->shaker. Brown with small offwhite head. Aroma: sweet malt and bread. Taste is similar, with molasses and a touch of added maple. Feels a bit contrived and forced, and would not want more than one at a sitting.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewery. I’m beginning to notice a theme with Jackalope beers. They appreciate subtlety and don’t overwhelm the flavor of their beers with the flavoring, but rather use it to supplement an already nice beer. In this case the slight maple syrup flavor takes this outside the realm of simple brown beer and makes it just a bit more interesting.

Had it on tap from the brewery in Nashville. Pretty tasty with hints of maple syrup that adds a nice sweet finish.
