COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A huge malt bill gives this fall seasonal beer its unique canvas. 60 pounds of locally hand picked pumpkin are roasted and glazed with brown sugar and honey in our pubís pizza oven. The pumpkin flesh (no skin, it adds an astringent bitterness) is added to the mash melding with the already complex grist. American hop varieties provide a formidable bitterness and some great flavor and aroma. At the end of the boil the wort is spiced with ginger, coriander, cinnamon, all spice, nutmeg, and more brown sugar help sculpt this pumpkin beer. After the fermentation the beer spends a little over a week on vanilla beans and cinnamon sticks!

Growler pours dark amber with dark orange hue and off white head. The aroma is sweet malts and brown sugar with light fall spices. The flavor is pumpkin and malts blended so well with spices on such a smooth medium body. The vanilla notes are subtle but present to help round it out so well.

Had this on the eve of the August 27th JOís release. Received in a pint glass. 4.0 A: Lightly hazed dark amber color. Two fingers of creamy beige head with decent retention and a small ring of lacing. 3.5 S: Lighter on the spice than Iíd prefer, but still nice. This is closer to a regular amber than a "pumpkin beer." Moderately bready with a touch of herbal hoppiness. 3.0 T: A bit underwhelming as a pumpkin beer. Rather, this is a fairly standard amber - light caramel and toffee are the main components. Just a touch of pumpkin spice. Good enough, but not memorable. 3.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Iíd like a touch more creaminess. 3.5 D: Worth a try, but I like my pumpkin beers to be bigger on the pumpkin and spice. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark orange brown with a thick cream colored head. Aroma of pumpkin spices. Flavor of the same, more spices than whole pumpkin. On the sweet side though. Not that drinkable. Ok but could be better. 7/4/6/3/12 (3.2/5)

Tap sample. Poured clear copper color with an average off-white frothy head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Solid doughy pumpkin pie and small alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy spice, nutmeg, cinnamon and pumpkin flavor with a medium to heavy spice sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Standout seasonal beer.

Sample at the Jackie Oís Bottle Sale on 08/27/2011. The beer is a murky brownish-orange color with a medium thin light beige head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet spices, brown sugar and malt. Medium body with a savory blend of spices, most notably cinnamon and nutmeg. Sweet brown sugar and malt in the background. The finish is sweet with a lingering pumpkin pie aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

i had zero intention on trying this b/c of the fact that I hate pumpkin beers. With that being said this is one of the better/best pumpkin beers iíve tried After, Brad convinced me to give it a whirl. Clear copper pour with a thin off white head. Aroma is spice. Flavor is pumpkin pie, light vanilla and brown suagr

UPDATED: MAR 5, 2011 Draft. Pours clear orange. Nose and taste of pumpkin cake, nutmeg, brown sugar, pie crust, cinnamon, all spice and ginger crisp. One of the best pumpkin beers Iíve ever had.

Draft sample @ experimental beer fest in November. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma had the typical holiday spices with mild pumpkin notes. The flavor had mild pumpkin and holiday spices, cinnamon being noticeable, with a decent bitterness toward the finish. The flavor didnít seem to pop like I was expecting, however this was consumed in between some big flavorful beers. I will revisit this the next time it comes out and update my rating.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery during the 5th anniversary party. Poured a hazy reddish amber with a gray head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was dominated by cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar with a pumpkin backing. Flavor had a pumpkin note at the start but was quickly overtaken by cardamon, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar.

On tap at the brewery. Appearance is a copper with a beige head. Aroma is pumpkin with spicy notes of coriander, cardamom, and cinnamon. A lot like a pumpkin pie beer. Taste is one that I enjoy, seeing as I enjoy pumpkin pie. Medium bodied. Too bad this one will only be available for a short amount of time.
