On tap at Jackie Oís. Pours a deep brown with a thin head and aromas of somewhat fake and strong raspberry flavoring. The flavor follows the lead here and is a little overly done and almost cloying. If the fruit was backed off a bit I would have appreciated this one a lot more.

This was sampled at the Dark Lord Bottle share at the Hampton Inn. Pours a very dark brown with a small beige head and good lacing. The nose is roasted malts with chocolate and ripe fruit. Smell like raspberry. Medium plus in body. Creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is rich roasted malts with raspberry and vanilla. Bitter chocolate finish.

easily the best brewer in southeast ohio, jackie Oís had me with my first sip of this. fruity, dark, chocolatey, and hints of vanilla make this like my dream beer. wish it was just a little thicker on the mouthfeel, but all in all, i wait for summer to enjoy this one

Reddish brown pour with a thin head. Bourbon, dark fruit and vanilla aroma. Tart raspberry fruit, bourbon, dark roast all in the taste.

Draft @ Jackie Oís. Pours dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma has a nice roasted malt base with chocolate, raspberries, and vanilla. The flavor is again as advertised; roasted malt, raspberries, vanilla with a nice shot of chocolate. Body is a touch light, but the flavor is good.

Lookie what I found. Reviewed from notes. On tap at the 5th Anniversary Party in December 2010. Pours a very dark brown color with a short off-white head and a moderate retention time. A little bit of lacing and a collar as it sits in the glass. The nose brings some roast and a nice amount of raspberry plus some vanilla and a good dosing of chocolate. Flavor has chocolate, raspberries, and chocolate, all blended quite well. Mouthfeel is nice -- fairly creamy and low carbonation. Really nice beer. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 06-16-2011

08 Black Betty has the 5th Anniversary party. I waited to review this until I had the BA version from the bottle... Looks like the ba version, dark brown with a light tan head, a little better lacing... The aroma is nice with vanilla, creamy chocolate and a touch of raspberries... The taste has a lot more chocolate than I expected, I was expecting and hoping for more of the vanilla and raspberries. They come through just not as much, guess I was hoping for some great vanilla like the Stone Vanilla Porter... Mouthfeel is too light, actually like he ba better. The base has all the right components but missing something. BA + sour isnít it, maybe just a ba version would make this one world class.

On tap at Jackie-Oís, Athens OH on 11 March 2010. Dark brown with a creamy beige head. Described as an imperial raspberry vanilla porter. Does just what it says on the tin. Didnít think it would work (especially as I am not particularly fond of vanilla in a beer) but it does. More like blackberry than raspberry. Not too much vanilla. Very tasty.

Thanks to Josh. Pours a darker brown color with a medium off white head. Aroma of a mix fruity mix (although dominated by raspberry), some chocolate and roasted malt. Taste of raspberries, chocolate and some vanilla.

Thank you Josh for sharing this one! Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of, drum roll please, lots of raspberries with lighter vanilla and chocolate. Tastes of the same raspberries, chocolate, roasty, and vanilla. A lighter tart finish. Would make a nice dessert beer for sure.
