Draft during the 5th Anniversary party. Pours black with some small bubbles. The aroma has dark malts, a hint of vanilla, raspberry and cherry fruits, oak and mild bourbon notes. The flavor is raspberry, vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate, oak with the bourbon enhancing rather than dominating. Alcohol is there, but not distracting. This was one of my favorites.
I noticed a slight amount of art character to the bottle we opened. Everything else was very similar.

Bottle courtesy of alexsdad06. Pours dark brown with some off white bubbles. Smells of cherries, oak, some bourbony notes, some acidic sourness creeping in. Tastes of oak, vanilla, cognac, spicy, some bourbon hints with a nice dry oaky finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Thorpe429 (3526) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - APR 24, 2011
Consumed at a recent DC area tasting. Served in a SAVOR snifter. Bottle 39/156.
Pours a very dark brown color with a thin light tan head that recedes quickly without lacing after a fairly-hard initial pour. The nose is a bit musty with oak and some dry tannins. There is a mild raspberry presence in the nose, but this is taken over a bit by the roast and oak. The flavor contains quite a bit more raspberry and dials the barrel character down a little bit, but the barrel presence is still too strong, leaving the finish too dry and tannic. Overall, pretty good, but not my favorite of the Jackie O’s barrel-aged releases.

opaque brown, thin active beige head. Nose of bourbon, raspberry arsenic. Flavor is chocolate cake, raspberry, more balance but Partially because of muted quality. Bit ashy. Pleasant. Like a messy cherry cab man.

22oz bottle pours a translucent, deep brown with a little cloudy, beige head. Nose has a ton of raspberry, a little musty, a little wood, a little bourbon. Flavor is sweet, chocolate, raspberry, cherry, vanilla, malty. Medium bodied, lightly sweet and lightly tart finish.

Dark Brown pour, small tan head. Aroma is bourbon, chocolate, very rich, light hints of raspberry fruit. mouthfeel is silky, luscious. Flavor is delicious chocolate covered raspberry flavor, very light on the raspberry but it melds well with the richness of the chocolate and bourbon. Damn good

2010 bottle # 24 o 156, drank from my Rodenbach Grand Cru glass... Dark brown pour looks good, not much of head to mention... The aroma has a very sour backbone, tartness from the raspberries in the main player. Additional notes of vanilla, bourbon (very sweet and smooth), oak, and chocolate. I really like this, but wish the sour was a touch less and then it would venture into great territory... The taste is right on the nose, tons of sour, then vanilla not from the barrel, chocolate and light raspberry finish. This tastes really good but the sourness is distracting. Still good, but if this wasn’t sour this would be outstanding... The mouthfeel is a light too light but very smooth. There is a weird metallic grassy finish that is off putting... Drinkable at 11%, can’t taste the alcohol.
This is really good base, there’s something special here, needs a little less barrel aging and sour maybe and this would be unreal.
