A blend of Willett barrel aged Brick Kiln aged for 14 months and an assortment of Buffalo Trace barrels that were aged for 9 months. Incredible blend, very delicious, and full.

From tap at CBC 2016. Dark brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, caramel, bourbon, wood, vanilla, alcohol, fudge and dried fruit.

Pours opaque Coca-Cola brown, not much head but this was a short pour. Aroma delivers nose-boggling bourbon, woody, caramel, roast malt and fruity tones. Flavor blows the taste buds with bourbon-soaked wood, roast malt, fruity and caramel tones. This aint for the faint of heart! Mouthfeel features firm, viscous body and lively fizz. Kiln-er!

Tarnished black with a dark beige head. Aromas of roasted chocolate malts, toffee/fudge, light herbal spice impression, wood notes and vanilla. Soft and smooth with a full body. Nicely balanced between sweet toffee notes and bitter roast action. Lasting finish, very nice indeed!

Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, caramel, malt, and bourbon. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, caramel, and bourbon, leading to a dry finish.

CBC 2016 Red session. Muddy brown body with a small white head. Aroma of bourbon, malt, caramel, vanilla. Taste is sweet and boozy, malty, with a strong bourbon finish. Mild apple notes. Good.

Tap @ CBC2016. Pours dark brown with a small light brown head. Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, fudge, malt, chocolate, caramel. Taste has milk chocolate, vanilla icecream, malt, chocolate, fudge.

Prufrockstar (1994) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 26, 2016
Bottle from Dutchs, poured into a HOTD tulip for rating #1900. The pour is surprisingly dark for a barley wine. Taken together with the short-lived brown head that recedes into nothing, at a glance this looks more like an imperial stout. Based on the aroma, I chose the right glass for this one. Loads of molasses. Brown sugar, dates, vanilla, and dough, this reminds me of the date pinwheel cookies my grandma used to make. Bourbon, soy sauce and brown sugar reduction -- alcohol is pleasantly present on the nose. Maybe its the soy/molasses/dark fruit/dough/alcohol combo, but its reminiscent of some HOTD brews (think: AFTW, minus the smoke). Taste: Lots of caramelized sweetness. Lightly bitter, tannic finish. Palate: full body, gentle carbonation, slick smooth texture. Overall: This is a very fine bee in the vein of a barrel-aged English barley wine or HOTD-inspired barrel-aged strong.

Tap@Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016, Copenhagen - dark amber brown coloured pour with beige head. Medium sweet malty aroma and taste, toasty, caramel, brown sugar, dried fruity and nutty, some spices, bourbon soaked wooden nuances, medium sweet bitter finish.

Draught @ CBC 2016. Pours dark brown with a small creamy tan head, lacings. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, wood, oak, bourbon, alcohol. Flavor is rather sweet, rich malty, caramel, little bread, wood, bourbon, boozy. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, sweet finish with a warming alcohol. 140516
