A: The beer pours a black color and looks almost flat, in fact, it is. No head to be found, either.
S: Jesus is this boozy. Tons of bourbon, booze, and ethanol type aromas on this one. Lots of oak with a bit of vanilla as well as some chocolate and roasted malt notes, just a hint of coffee, as well.
T: Tastes a bit better, but still a touch harsh. Lots of booze/ethanol as well as a bit of actual bourbon flavor. Some wood and vanilla are there as well as roast, chocolate, and a touch of coffee.
M: Medium bodied with essentially no carbonation.
O: Way too harsh, way too much booze, and no carbonation? Not a winning combination.

(22oz bomber thanks to Exiled) very dark brown pour with a few bubbles. Nose of vanilla, barrel, rich chocolate, a bit of alcohol and oddly some sulfur aromas. Taste of maple, barrel, bourbon, big vanilla, rich linger and a medium body. Actually refreshing which is odd for this style.

2011 22 oz. bottle (16 of 336) via trade with Tripphop (BA) - Pours a dark brown color with a half finger thick tan head. Very light tiny spotted lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, dark esters, licorice, and oak/bourbon. Flavor is chocolate, bourbon, light vanilla, and dark esters. The bourbon and dark fruits linger a bit in the finish. Also, the finish seems a touch thin for a big beer like this. The alcohol is noticeable, but doesn’t warm my stomach like some other high ABV beers. A really good beet. Thanks Tripp.

Bottle 171/384. Pours black with a fair amount of brown head. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla coconut and chocolate. Taste is chocolate, coconut, vanilla and some caramel/toffee notes. This reminds me of Churchill’s FInest Hour 2011, very tasty

Huge thanks to Shaun for this one.
Aroma: Anise and vanilla, coffee, chocolate malts and bourbon. Very intense.
Appearance: Black pour with offwhite head.
Flavors: Bourbon and vanilla cream makes a perfect mariage with chocolate and coffee. Very well integrated.
Palate: Very heavy with light carbonation. A dessert in itself.
Overall: Very good barrel aged IS. The flavors are intense and you can really feel the barrel presence without being cloying. This is not infinitly complex but the flavors are so well blended together.

Had this on the day of the June 25th release. Received in a snifter.
4.0 A: Black color. Just a touch of creamy beige head.
5.0 S: Wonderful! The milk chocolate of the regular is vastly improved by the bourbon aging. Bourbon itself is woody with leather and a near peatiness. Coffee underneath with lots of oak, a good amount of vanilla, molasses, and caramel. Nearly no alcohol and a moderate JO’s house character.
4.5 T: Bourbon is the strongest component, which is very much different from the last vintage. Leathery with a light peat and char. Lots of chocolate with coffee and lots of oak with some vanilla. Decent amount of caramel with some molasses.
4.5 M: Heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Good creaminess and super smooth. The bourbon really helped out with the body.
5.0 D: Great beer. Taste could have easily been a 5.0. This is my favorite non-iced Dark App variant

Whoa, intense aroma of mostly bourbon and some alcohol. Flavor is a glorious combination of sweet bourbon, super rich malts, vanilla, and some brown sugar. All of the flavors are put together really well and create one hell of a great example of a BA Stout. Thanks Brad!

On draft @ the brewpub. Aroma is burnt malts, bourbon, and coffee. Notes of vanilla, brown sugar, and dark chocolate stand out. Palate is where it should be, low carbonation, surprisingly smooth. Flavor brings out the brown sugar. Very impressive.

22oz bottle, #101/384, courtesy of pantanap. thanks, kan! pours a silky, jet black with a short but smooth dark khaki head that leaves rich, oily legs and shreds of lace. aroma is fantastic with big notes of toasted oak, walnuts, chocolate brownie crusts, and brown sugar backed by sutle notes of spicy bourbon, vanilla, black coffee, and sawdust with the faintest hints of maple syrup and smoked wood. flavor is simply wonderful as well with a remarkable balance of rich, woody bourbon, with that distinct woodford reserve smoothness and subtle notes of spice, with dark chocolate, espresso, toffee, and wet earth backed by toasted malts, vanilla, and graham crackers and a touch of smoke and ripe, dark fruits. palate is rich and full bodied with smooth carbonation and a long, dry, roasted finish with a subtle, warming bourbon influence. overall, an outstanding barrel aged imperial stout that earns a bonus 0.1 for those decadent woodford barrels.

22 oz bottle. Dark brown with a few residual spots of foam. Nose is bittersweet chocolate, oak, bourbon, caramel and alcohol. Medium to full body, a bit chalky with a soft buzz. Taste is dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla, bourbon and lots of wood to finish. Good brew but a little rough.
