Bottle. Dark brown pour, little to no head. Nutty, sweet, bourbony, dessertish nose...inviting for sure, soft vanilla and fudge, and nuts. Flavors keep up the pace with nicely sweet dessertish vanilla-laden fudge and nut butter...smooth as silk, velvety really, a little acid on the edges from the barrell, the bourbon influence is wonderfully dessertish here...super cashmere palate. Wonderful fuckin shit right here.

Consumed at a recent DC area tasting. Served in a SAVOR snifter.
Pour yields a very dark brown brew with a thin tan head. The nose carries a good amount of bourbon along with some roasted malt and chocolate. There’s a bit of sweetness in there as well, backing up the roast. The flavor melds the bourbon, chocolate, and sweet malt together well, with a bit of booze in the finish alongside the roasted malt. Nice combination of flavor effects. Medium body with a nice barrel presence. A really nice brew; glad I was able to grab a bottle of this.

this is an interesting beer in that the barrel aged version doesn’t taste barrel aged and the regular does... lots of roasted chocolate in this, very chewy... pretty good but grab the regular if you can

big ’ol thanks to st.Fun for getting me a couple much wanted jackie o’s asking nothing in return. pours a thick black with a small, slow rising head. the aroma is great, very earthy, nice spirit profile, some decadent and subtle chocolate underneath, together slightly spicy, very full and rich in the nose, wonderfully enticing. the body is excelelnt and very creamy, oily and full. the taste is excellent and to match the nose, but there is a tiny bit of cloying sweetness distracting from some of the subtleties in the back end and finish. overall a fantastic imperial porter.
