2014 bottle - dark brown pour with off white head. Nose of malt, caramel, toffee and booze. Taste follows the nose. Sweetness is lacking a little. Good but not Great. Literally.

Draft in a sampler glass on the Public House side at Jackie-Oís. Pours a hazy amber-hued brown with a beige ring for a head. The aroma is a little jammed up compared to the flavor, where notes of vanilla, caramel, raisin, dates, figs, brown sugar, and oak come through in a bigger way. Medium-bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a smooth, sweet mouthfeel. Itís remarkable to me how well Brick Kiln - a beer Iím not wild about - lends itself to barrel aging. Iím a big fan of all barrel treatments Iíve had of it.

Somewhat of a let down, considering the cost. Pours a dark ruby red, with a small tan head. Some lacing left on the glass. Aroma of oak, bourbon, dark fruits. Taste is sweet dark fruits, bourbon, and wood. Light, to medium body, bourbon lingers on the palate. Not bad, not mind-blowing.

Pours dark reddish and a bit cloudy. Thin tan head. Aroma of bourbon, sweet malt and dried fruit. Flavor is smooth, a little sweet, some nice malt and some bourbon. Really a nice balanced Barleywine. Very smooth and flavorful. Good but VERY expensive if you find it. $35 for a growler fill.

Deep amber color with a wisp of a beige head. Great bourbon and malty caramel nose. This is a great use of bourbon barrel to enhance a great barley wine. Rich buttery wood, vanilla, caramel, blooming alcohol and a rich dried fruit. Really great ba beer.

Pours very dark brown with tan head and no lacking. Aroma of bourbon, wood, cherries, and dark fruit. Taste is the same with strong malts and light soy sauce. Very nice.

Draught at The Pint Room, Dublin, OH. Dark green-brown murky pour, silky off-white head. Aroma toffee, caramel, malt, alcohol. Thereís some dark fruit in here. If I didnít know any better, I would say we were actually served the non-BA version, because I couldnít find any oak or bourbon in this. But, Iím rating it as advertised. Solid beer but nothing to write home about.

Straight Middle of the road, bottled from JOís 7th anniversary, just decided to open it now. Pretty tasty for a BA BW but nothing earth shattering, this is a good quality beer nice and dark i mean murky brown dark, and slight hints of bourbon but not dominate. Nice.
