Hmm...I as excited to try this as it is my first beer from Jackie O. This is just pure bourbon and not much else. Kind of disappointing.

Deep black pour with think tan head and some lacing. Bourbon is at the forefront here and woodiness (oak) and vanilla come along for the ride. Tastes hot/boozy, but I like it. Complex malts, faint cola flavor, molasses, and roasted malts. Great!

375ml bottle pours a murky amber with some spitty, white head. Nose is booze, malt, caramel, apples, pears, mild chocolate. Flavor is super sweet and boozy, caramel, malt, chocolate, bread. Full bodied, boozy finish.

Pours a murky copper brown from the bottle with minimal ring of tan bubbly head that leaves light lace. Aroma of big bourbon barrel sweetness, vanilla and oak over molasses. Taste is big bourbon barrel notes over slight earthy malt and sweetness. Its what you expect, but not what I wanted.

Deep mahogany pour with a thin layer of khaki head .... Aroma of caramel malts, oak, vanilla and bourbon .... Taste is of coconut, vanilla, caramel malts, slightly nutty, oak and bourbon with a rich malt forward flavor ..... Nice depth and maltiness .... Mouthfeel is rich dry and medium bodied .... Nice flavored barleywine

Enjoyed at an all barley wine tasting at Traviss house on February 21. The pour is a deep ruby color with a thin khaki colored head that fades to a ring leaving a little lace. The aroma is pretty hot. There is a good caramel and dark fruit base, but there is a lot of differing booze notes going on. The flavor is damn good. Roasted malts, dark fruits, a light chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. The booze is really well hidden in the flavor. The mouth feel is a little thin, but the carbonation is nice, and offers a pleasant overall mouth feel. The aftertaste is lingeringly boozy with a good caramel hanging on. I think this would be excellent with some age

22oz bomber (bottle 3/342) pours with a nice looking mahogany to amber colored body that supports a thin off white head. The mild aroma offers up molasses covered spicy oak, mild sweet bourbon, brown sugar and then faint spicy oak at the end of the draw. The taste starts with smooth sweetness delivering a somewhat thin body that bubbles up molasses, thick malts, some spicy oak and then mild floral hop sort of soapiness. To midway it gets into modest thin sweet bourbon booziness. This is pretty nice but with a thin body likely due to the time spent in the barrel. I really like the balance between the barrel and beer notes.
