A blend of Willett barrel aged Brick Kiln aged for 14 months and an assortment of Buffalo Trace barrels that were aged for 9 months. Incredible blend, very delicious, and full.

Pours a murky copper brown from the bottle with minimal ring of tan bubbly head that leaves light lace. Aroma of big bourbon barrel sweetness, vanilla and oak over molasses. Taste is big bourbon barrel notes over slight earthy malt and sweetness. Its what you expect, but not what I wanted.

Deep mahogany pour with a thin layer of khaki head .... Aroma of caramel malts, oak, vanilla and bourbon .... Taste is of coconut, vanilla, caramel malts, slightly nutty, oak and bourbon with a rich malt forward flavor ..... Nice depth and maltiness .... Mouthfeel is rich dry and medium bodied .... Nice flavored barleywine

Enjoyed at an all barley wine tasting at Traviss house on February 21. The pour is a deep ruby color with a thin khaki colored head that fades to a ring leaving a little lace. The aroma is pretty hot. There is a good caramel and dark fruit base, but there is a lot of differing booze notes going on. The flavor is damn good. Roasted malts, dark fruits, a light chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. The booze is really well hidden in the flavor. The mouth feel is a little thin, but the carbonation is nice, and offers a pleasant overall mouth feel. The aftertaste is lingeringly boozy with a good caramel hanging on. I think this would be excellent with some age

22oz bomber (bottle 3/342) pours with a nice looking mahogany to amber colored body that supports a thin off white head. The mild aroma offers up molasses covered spicy oak, mild sweet bourbon, brown sugar and then faint spicy oak at the end of the draw. The taste starts with smooth sweetness delivering a somewhat thin body that bubbles up molasses, thick malts, some spicy oak and then mild floral hop sort of soapiness. To midway it gets into modest thin sweet bourbon booziness. This is pretty nice but with a thin body likely due to the time spent in the barrel. I really like the balance between the barrel and beer notes.

Bottle 40 of 342, 2012 vintage, 04/23/2015. Pours rather dark, black color, minimal tan head with a small ring of lacing left around the glass. Aroma of dark bread, nutty toffee and oxidized fruit, vanilla caramel bourbon notes to finish. Taste is caramel, coconut and chocolate with somewhat astringent bitterness, still quite a lot of alcohol in the finish, somewhat metallic. Medium body, light for the style. Cant tell if not so great to begin with or simply didnt age well.

22oz (2012) bottle in a wine glass at Split thy Skull barley wine fest. Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma of toffee and caramel from the malts, light vanilla, some spice, hints of bourbon and oak, light bitterness, and some faint notes of alcohol. Flavor a little weird, maybe oxidized. Thinner texture. Not bad but not the best barley wine.

Bottle from a trade. Poured into snifters and shared at the house. Pours a deep brown with a mild head. Aroma is barrel woodiness, dark fruits, dark sweet candies, bread. Taste is similar with the dark fruits and then wood barrel. Moderate balance. Carb is also moderate along with a velvet mouth feel. Slight boozy. Little mettalic on the finish.

My first barleywine. I was expecting a little bit more but oh well. Definitely got a buzz off of this one though

Disappointing for me... although that could have just been because I was tasting it alongside a lot of other barrel aged beers. Its got some good dark fruit flavors and a bourbony sweetness...but nothing to write home about.

Pours a nice deep reddish/brown color, tan head. Sweet malts, bourbon, vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, rich and decadent.
