4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From a growler provided by sliffy! Pours black with a quickly dissapating brown head. Aroma is bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, caramel. Flavor is bourbon blast, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, coconut, caramel. Palate is silky smooth with a full body, mild carbonation, and boozy finish. Definitely bourbon forward, but not over the top. Very well done.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On draught at the brewpub, served in a snifter. The beer pours black with a medium thick brown head that diminishes to an outer ring eventually. Thick rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and bourbon. Rich body with flavors of chocolate, bourbon-soaked wood, dark fruit and a bit of coffee. The finish is roasty with a bittersweet chocolate and booze finish. Very enjoyable overall.

Hand Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate, bourbon, caramel, vanilla, and a hint of maple syrup. There’s some light heat to the aroma. It pours a dark brown, with no transparency, and virtually no head. There are a few bubbles during the pour, but they disappear instantly. The flavor starts with a hint of dark chocolate. The finish has a fruity tanginess, along with moderate bourbon and alcohol. It has a maple syrup and faint woody aftertaste. Medium-full bodies with minimal carbonation and a slick mouthfeel.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Growler acquired in trade. Poured a dark black color with a medium sized tan head. Aromas of chocolate, bourbon, woodiness, and roast. Tastes of bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, wood, roast, and some dark fruits. The bourbon was definitely there, but for me, not overpowering (I am a sucker for bourbon though). Medium alcohol burn in the finish. Well done!

Snifter on release day. Picture perfect black pour with a medium tan head. Bourbon and vanilla aroma with a hint of dark fruit and plenty of roasted malt. Boozy flavor up front with some oaky vanilla, chocolate and a bit of dark fruit before a slightly bitter coffee finish. Tasty!

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Looks beautiful. Almost opaque with chocolate head. Gorgeous nose of coffee, chocolate and bourbon. Bourbon certainly there but not overwhelming. Palate follows the nose: coffee and chocolate with bourbon as a supporting element. Very restrained use of bourbon barrel which highlights rather than dominates the underlying imperial stout (which is great even w/o BB).

On tap at the pub. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma boozy bourbon rich chocolate notes. Flavor chocolate roasted notes some slight bourbon and vanilla. Sweet but with a roasted bitterness on the finish mediumto full bodied.
