Bottle from Reserve Society- pours a stout brown with a tan head. Nose is roast, coffee, vanilla, booze, wood, some nutty sweetness. Flavor is similar- roast, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, some booze, nutty sweetness, and a hint of wood. Light to medium in body for the style and lingering nutty sweetness in the finish.

22 oz bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours black in color with a medium sizedfine beige head. The aroma has roasted malts, chocolate, some black walnut nutty character, wood, bourbon and vanilla. The flavor has much of the same and shows a nice integration of flavors. Some tannin character from the wood shows. Reports of infection were not noticed. In fact, this was very good.

Pours jet black with no head, aroma of coffee, bourbon and vanilla. Taste is tart oak chocolate and vanilla. Not my favorite ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample from 2012 bottle #324/348 at the Jackie O’s / food paring on 02/16/2013: Pours brownish-black with a minimal off-white head that disappears to a sparse outer ring quickly. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, bourbon and nuts. Full-bodied with flavors of bourbon, chocolate malt and roasted nuts. The finish is mildly boozy with a malty and nutty aftertaste. Good beer all around.

22oz bottle, 250/300. Shared by Tmoney99. Dark color, brown, but near-black. Little light brown head. Good dots of lace. Good chocolate syrup, nutty, bourbon, and... Rum... nose. Something dark, robust, and mysterious in that nose. Bigger body, smooth crisp carbonation. Just a little bite. Rich chocolate flavor, with a good moderate bourbon bite. Woody. Delicious bourbon imperial stout.

Served in a Jackie O’s 2012 STAFF glass. Nose has faint bourbon and chocolate. Flavor has good chocolate but also quite a bit of alcohol. Full body. Heat through the finish.

Staff Bottle. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted nuts, candy sugar and bourbon alcohol aroma. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Heavy bourbon sweet roasted black malt flavor with a heavy sweet and small bourbon alcohol bite finish of long duration. This is a standout beer.

bottle courtesy of MikeTD/John, Its tough to discern this, as the base beer rocks and its barrel treatments are all great, but not as great as the base? perhaps. the bourbon lingers here and allows more of the sweetness to come through quite good.

Blue-waxed bomber to snifter (thanks tmoney99). Looks good; a viscous black with beige lacing. Smells and tastes of malt and bourbon. Nice and slick on the palate. Good stuff!
