Bottle from the West Point Market in Akron. Pours a deep colored stout black with a mocha head and slight oil. The aroma is powerful dark chocolate, nuts, hint of vanilla, and cocoa nibs. The taste is at first dark chocolate and cocoa then moving to a nutty vanilla. The barrel woodiness is solid and masks the booziness. Some marshmallow on the finish. Slick and full body.

Thnx to mike. Pours black, small layer of foam. Smell iss rich and roasty. Taste is full, bourbon, grainy , bit sweet, dark chocolate, some oats. Mildly bitter aspects. Creamy mouthfeel and low carbo, the way i like it ! Dont really get the walnuts , but the beer does have a compex background

Bottle to snifter. Pours jet black beneath a quickly-dissipating caramel head, thin, drippy lacing. Nose is impressive and dense. Buttery nuttiness really playing nicely with that heavy bourbon vanilla sweetness; notes of milk chocolate mingle as well. Flavor boasts a sweet, dark fruit, sticky malt & vanilla, buttery walnut. Medium body, viscous mouthfeel/linger, super low carbonation. Alcohol burn pretty present though on the finish. Nose really outshines the flavor, but that nuttiness is well done. Not really a Jackie Os fan, albeit being a proud Ohioan, but this is a nice treat from them.

12 oz bottle: Lasting dark tan head, on top of an opaquely black body. Aromas of Chocolate, roasty, and deeply caramel malts dominate. Bourbon-y notes of vanilla and a touch of woody oak. There is just a touch of soy sauce to compliment the complexity. Some brown sugar notes come into play as it warms. Dark fruity esters are always a welcome visitor to imperial stouts, and they are generous. The flavor starts sweetly malty, but lends to a dry, well balanced finish. Roasty and a bit of dark grain acidity, as we as some alcohol dryness, help to balance malts as well. Flavors are much the same as the aroma. Full bodied, warming alcohol, and subdued carbonation enhance the beer's overall character. Fantastic beer!

Holy flat pour. No head. Thick liquid. Black. Huge bourbon notes in the nose. Oaky. Taste is semi sweet and only very lightly bitter. Flavors of dill weed marshmallows roasted over a chat pit. Also big vanilla notes with some oaky chocolate. Over the top amount of bourbon. Booze not well hidden. Not as good as Bells Saturn I just had. Ok.

375 mL bottle shared by Spencer. The pour is a medium black with a thinner light tan head with a couple fingers of lace. The aroma is big on woodiness and a nice booze. There is a light vanilla and bourbon presence but the aroma of the stout is drown out by the scent of the barrel. The flavor is really good. Definite walnut presence with the roasted malts. There is a light green wood presence and a nice booze presence. The finish is a little sweet. The mouth feel is thin and oily. There is a nice roast balance carrying along with the bourbon barrel additions. The aftertaste is lingeringly woody with not much else happening. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
