Bottle thanks to George. Pours a very dark brown with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is roast, dark chocolate, wood, and bourbon. Thin mouth, roast, chocolate, light booze, hides alcohol well, very good.

The great showdown! Drinking this vs the regular one at CBC 2015. Pours black with low tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, light nuts and muscovado. Taste is bourbon and vanilla sweet, with boozy sweet finish. Body is rich and creamy with soft carbonation. Very sweet, but I like it better than the regular one.

12 oz bottle, poured into a snifter at ~45 degrees F. Appearance: Pours a deep, dark black, forming a few patches of bubbles along the lower edges of the glass, and forms a thick, long-lived head of a dark khaki, verging towards actual brown. Lacing is, as one would expect, impressive. Smell: The aroma is almost tangible. Deep, rich dark chocolate, plummy fruits, newly tanned leather, and roasted nuts all swirl out of the glass, in gorgeous unison. Taste: Oddly, less complex than the scent led me to believe. Theres a distinct heat and astringency from the ABV, which likely fades if one is not drinking a freshly released bottle. Underneath that, there is a smooth, delicious stout, with flavor notes including dark chocolate, fig, plum, bitter earth, walnut, and leather. Id like to try this again with some age on it. Mouthfeel: Oddly light for an imperial stout, presenting itself as crushable rather than full, rich, and sticky. Overall: Not my favorite Jackie-Os stout - that award currently goes to their Dark Apparition. That being said, this has scads of promise for developing into something truly spectacular with a bit of age, so Ill be picking up some more bottles to cellar. Ill revisit it once I try some aged.
