The next bottle to be opened was only slightly less good. That had more to do with the fact I am a bit burned out on barrel aged imperial stouts after so many years. Even so if I could actually get some Jackie O bottles without a long trip to Athens I might jump at the chance.
Aroma / Appearance - The fluid black base was solid for a rich imperial stout. A minimal espresso head graced the top like a dash of icing. Brandy is powerful and distracts from the chocolate, coffee, and dark fruits. If it mellowed out a bit more it might actually be better.
Flavor / Palate - Chocolate, figs, and a harsh blast of brandy alternate from smooth to very direct. It starts to get a bit cloying over time. If you like overly sweet beers like Southern Tier Mocha this would be right up your alley. If not then save your time and money and just try the regular instead.

Bomber, 2011 vintage, #21/240. Poured deep brown with a short-lived, spotty dark beige head. The aroma was very sweet, with warm brandy, chocolate, vanilla, and more rich vinous notes leading.. oak, vanilla, and peppery notes stick around the back of the nose for a really long time.. warmth brought out a lot of tangy character. The flavor found a huge dose of jammy fruit and oaky brandy barrel the whole way through.. toasted chocolate, biscuity notes, and burnt coffee supported, but struggled to balance out the strong, tangy barrel.. finished tart with a lot of brandy barrel over sweet, tasty cocoa and coffee. Medium-plus bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. too much barrel initially, but it balanced out a lot better as it warmed up. Good stuff.

Bottle tasted at Oxford Tasting Nov 2012. Dark pour with a nice tan head. Brandy very present in the aroma, along with Nutella spread and vanilla. Sweet but the roast elements make a good balance, and a big alcohol punch. I like.

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with small to medium tan head. Aroma of oak, coconut, licorice, chocolate, butter and biscuit. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of oak, chocolate and licorice. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Better than the rum/vanilla version.

The beer is dark brown with a finger of tan head. The aroma is quite nice and complex, with brandy, oak, and roast. The flavor brings vanilla and oak with some booze and barrel notes. I seem to like this brew considerably more than my esteemed cohorts. The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. The finish has a subtle harsh kick with some booze notes. Overall, I thought this complex, tasty, and interesting. I would have it again.

22 oz. bottle served in a Deschutes tulip. Shared this guy in line at DLD. Bottle # 52/240.
A: Pours a dark black with a thin tan head forming on the pour. It recedes to thin ring and leaves some splotches of lace along the edges of the glass.
S: The brandy barrel shines giving this beer an extra layer of sweetness. Sweet brandy, roasted malts, bitter chocolate and some light oak.
T: Sweet brandy, some oak, a little butterscotch and caramel sweetness. Both bitter bakers chocolate and milk chocolate with a just a bit of roasted malts and vanilla on the finish.
M: Medium bodied with a medium carbonation. The finish is roasty and sweet, but not drying at all.
O: The brandy barrel takes a slightly above average beer and turn it into a great one. I really enjoyed the sweetness from the barrel. Would like to have again.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty woody weak vanilla aroma. Roasted malty woody sweetish chocolate and vanilla flavor. Has a sweetish malty woody chocolate and vanilla finish.

Bottle 73/240 shared by MrPickles...thanks Andy! - Pours deep and dark with a brown head. Nose is sweet and boozy, with charred, ashy roast and lots of dark bread. Taste is roasty and charred, with sweet booze notes, cherries, and dark roast on the finish. Thick and well-carbonated.

Black pour, brown head. Aroma is loaded with roast, molasses, chocolate and brandy. Flavor is sweet and smooth. Booze, roast, dark dried fruit, vanilla. Warms you as you drink it.

Pours pitch black and completely opaque with a two finger beige head that slowly fading into a lasting cap. Really good retention with chunks of soapy lace left behind.
Roasted malt aroma with a decent barrel presence thats nicely integrated . Subtle toasted oak, vanilla and booze followed by sweet and dark malt notes. Hints of slightly burnt malt, coffee, dark chocolate and oatmeal.
Medium bodied with a nice balanced of brandy barrel, roasted and sweet malt notes. Really sweet with a strong boozy barrel presence. Hits of toasted oak, charred wood and brandy followed by some coffee, dark chocolate and smokey, roasted malt. A bit thinner than expected and a bit too much sweetness. Lots of boozy flavor but not too hot. Decently quaffable.
