COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the elusive spider, this beer has been waiting patiently for the past 22 months to spring forth and show its fangs! What started off as an unassuming English-style mild ale was transformed in oak barrels with the help of some wild yeast, bacteria, and time. For 19 months, this little brown ale rested in barrels, accumulating layers of complexity with each season that passed. When the time came to blend the barrels, a gallon of local Sticky Pete’s maple syrup was added. For an additional 3 months the wild yeast and bacteria gorged themselves on the sugar-rich maple syrup. The result is a delightful beer with a surprising tart bite. Enjoy now, or store in a cool dark corner and allow reclusiveness to further this beer’s mystique.

Little fuzzy on the comments as this was the end of the night. Bit of harsh bitterness balanced by dark malts. Barely perceivable maple, mainly slight tart fruits.

22 oz. bottle shared by bsuedekum- thanks again, Blake! 2011 vintage. Bottle 159/372. Pours a dark brown color that reveals quite a bit of amber highlights when held up to light. Small beige head that amounts to just a ring after a moment. Nice sour cherry and plum character throughout, with a good amount of oak and earthiness, balsamic vinegar, and a lighter amount of brown sugar and vanilla. Not really getting any maple syrup, per se, as this one is lighter in body and led by the sour fruits. Really nice sour nonetheless.

Cool bomber thanks to Craig, your rock bro! Pours a opaque brown color with a small tan head. The aroma is a big Flemish style brown ale it seems, some fruit and wood. A very tart flavor with cherries and sour plum, a bit of sweet malts shine through, very deep and complex. A great sour. Not sure what the maple does but I like it!

Bottle shared by Craig. Aroma: earthy, some oak, slightly tart, reminiscent of a Flanders brown. Pours clear brown, little head. Flavor: some dark malts and fruits, earthy, a touch of leather, pleasant acidity. Light-medium body, medium carbonation. Very nice.

Bomber. Pours near black with a thin tan head. The nose is light malt and sour fruit. The taste is vinegar, unripe cherries, light cocoa and red wine. Medium prickly mouthfeel. Not what I was expecting but an ok brew. Nothing to write home about.

Hazy reddish brown with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of wood, cherries, maple syrup, and some bacteria. Taste of wood, brown sugar, maple, sour cherries, some acidity, and a sour finish.
