Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of wavers1. Bottle # 1/156 - cool! Pours black with an orange hue and a lacing beige head. Aroma of oak, chili and coffee. Solid body, dry dark fruits and hard roasted malt, coconut and oak with also distinct vanilla. Has a tart edge. A nice treat Baker, thanks! 120910

Bomber #58/156 shared by BOLTZ. Pours mahogany brown with a thin tan head. The nose is peppers, wood, roasted malt. The taste is sour cherries, burnt malt, green peppers. Medium mouthfeel. Interesting beer. A little too astringent for me. Thanks for sharing it J!

Bottle 58 of 156 acquired via trade with alexsdad06...thanks again Brad!!! Jet black pour with a small latte head. Tons of chocolate, roasted coffee bean, cherry skin, bourbon, vanilla, and oak. The tartness might not have been intended but really isn’t distracting. Didn’t get a strong indication of the cinnamon...would have been a nice addition. Good.

Via BA trade. pours black, tan head. aroma, lots of coffee, roasted malts with plenty of barrel in the nose. flavors, barrel, light cinnamon, chocolate malts, espresso/coffee palate adding a mild bitterness in the finish. Overall abv adds a nice warming mouthfeel making this one another nicely done barrel aged beer. Java profile is moderate providing a nice blend with the use of cinnamon.

My last rating of the RBSG Grand Tasting, any my handwriting tells me that was a good thing. Shared by deyholla. Pours a dark brown color appearing black in the glass. Thin head with decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and caramel. Tastes of chocolate, bitter coffee a faint cherry finish and a bit of coconut.

Location: Bottle at Max and Andy’s Fantasy Tasting, 5/1/10

Aroma: The nose on this one is boozy (bourbon), spice, roasted malts, and oak
Appearance: The pour is dark brown-black in color with a beige-brown head
Flavor: The bourbon is also strong in the flavor of this malty, spicy, and boozy brew
Palate: This one feels rather rich, and is certainly boozy (the booze are probably too hot)
Overall Impression: Not a bad beer, but I like a little less bourbon in my beer then this. If I wanted to drink bourbon, I’d have gotten a bourbon. Otherwise, it has some interesting flavors, and seems to have a pretty good complexity to it, so I’m certainly not going to go too low.

Very interesting. Aroma has some spice, cloves, cinnamon, and roasted malts with hints of wood and chocolate. Flavor is sweet and roasty with a touch of vanilla and spice. Some dryness and odd roasted flavor with a bit of earthyness. Fun experiment.
