3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle from hophead84. Weird with a capital W. Pours brown with a tan ring. Nose is sweet cinammon and choco. Taste is sweet muddled, like a holiday mess.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bomber, dated 12/02/2009 and consumed in April 2010. The pour yields a dark chestnut to cola brown body with a thin, broken, grayish khaki film on the surface. Minimal, spotty lacing marks the glass. The nose is pretty solid, based in dark, bittersweet cocoa and loaded with raw vanilla bean and a strong helping of cinnamon. Thereís a bit of backup coffee roast, but it remains mainly dry and cocoa driven. The flavor isnít nearly as well positioned. In fact, Iíd call it a major disappointment after what is a very nice aroma. Everything seems watered down and dulled. Cocoa is still dry, but isnít nearly as potent or earthy. Cinnamon seems overly peppery and hot, and coffee notes are stale and weathered. Likewise, the palate is a major letdown. Dull and lifeless, the carbonation is too light, and the consistency is far too thin. Thereís just far too much disparity between the nose and the rest of this brew. It clearly hasnít held up well over the course of 3+ months in the bottle.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle... Pours a semi thn and oily close to black pour with thinner brown edges... Aroma huge on sour roasted coffee and chocolate... Sweet upfront with coffee and roast and finishes on an odd sour note. Somewhat odd combination.

bottle 107/156 from dakine shared on 1/12/2010.
it looks fairly black with a small tan head.
aromas and flavors are both the same... loads of coffee, chocolate peppers, sour cinnamon, roast, cocoa and some bourbon-y spice. rather thin body. it is very odd... simultaneously good and bad. iím not really sure what to make of it...7/4/7/3/13/3.4

Well, that is a lot of coffee. Sweet, sweet, sweet mocha coffee.. and more coffee, with some coffee. Probably some chocolate underneath the coffee, but canít really tell with all the coffee.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 oz bottle. Dark brown with a smattering of tan froth. Nose is musty overripe peach and strawberry, wood, bubblegum, cinnamon and spearmint; crazy. Medium light with faint carb. Taste is green plum, red wine, cinnamon and vanilla caramel. Finishes with grapefruit pith and bitter mocha. I would have never guessed this was a stout.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
One of many awesome bottles shared by pantanap at the chicagoland ratebeer tasting. Thanks Kan! Pours a deep brown with ruby red highlights. Aroma of flowers, chocolate, coffee. There was a weird candy, tootsie roll, candy cane type flavor to this. A sour chocolate candy cane coffee beer. neat, but a little strange.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle from goryshkewych. Rating #4. Dense black pour and very little head. Bitter coffee aroma and a little bit of the barrel as well. Whew, very roasty, lots of cinnamon, coffee roast and a little tart as well, very strange and unusual. Joe says no, but I kind of like it. (1099)

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 ounce bottle from AmEricanBrew, poured a dark black color with very little carbonation. Aromas of coffee, light bourbon, and subtle cinnamon. Flavors are the same, coffee is the main act, with subtle notes of cinnamon and bourbon. Probably should of drank a year ago, probably would have had more carbonation in it, still a great beer, just wish it had a smidge of carbonation in it.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 58 of 156 acquired via trade with alexsdad06...thanks again Brad!!! Jet black pour with a small latte head. Tons of chocolate, roasted coffee bean, cherry skin, bourbon, vanilla, and oak. The tartness might not have been intended but really isnít distracting. Didnít get a strong indication of the cinnamon...would have been a nice addition. Good.
