3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour out of 22 oz bottle, dark reddish brown with white head, aroma brought notes of oak, cabernet grapes, some slight red raisin, dark fruits, rich caramel and toffee, some sour fruit notes with a hint of lactic acid, with a ever so slight hint of acetic acid. Taste was a mix of slight tart fruit with lots of cabernet grapes, hints of caramel, toffee, some acetic and lactic acids, finishing with an oaky dry finish. Wish there was more cherry, it got kind of lost.

Bottle: The aroma consists of tart cherry, vinegar, vinous notes, and a hint of chocolate. It pours a dark brown with some orange highlights and a minimal tan head that quickly fades to a thin ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with some light chocolate and caramel. The finish has tart cherry, lemon, and light vinegar. Itís medium bodied with mild carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Approximately 4 ounce sample at the Jackie Oís Public House in Athens, Ohio. The pour is hazed brown black ruby with not much of a tan head. The aroma is big Cabernet wine, light malt sweet and roast behind that. The taste is big Cab character, sour cherries, and followed by the light roast of the porter. The palate is medium bodied, still, oily, dry wine booze and cherry character finish. Nice, though a bit heavy handed on the wine character. Creative, well executed.

On tap, pours a dark brownish blck with a thin tan head. Aroma has a lot of funk and dark fruits with a tart cherry. Flavor is awesome this is my kind of beer lots of funk and a vinous cherry tart but there is a porter hidden under the funky yeast roasted malt comes through. overall this is a good craft brew I like the funky and the wino cherry.

The beer is a dark brown (reddish tints) color, with a small, thin head that leaves but a touch of lacing on the glass. The aroma and taste are consistent with one another: barrels, a tannic presence, wine, cherries. The flavor is decent, with an acetic finish. The feel is medium bodied with a solid carbonation level. Overall, a decent and interesting brew and one that I would be happy to have again.

Very dark red beer, light passes through - just! Lovely nose of quality red wine and dark cherry. Light palate, fairly dry. Tangy beer - bordering sour. Man this is good! The red wine dominates, tangy, fruity and with peppery blackcurrant. The base porter peeps through with a mild fresh dark malt. Seamlessly integrated is sweet and sour cherry. Finishes a little tart with more cherry and red wine. The most wine like beer Iíve had and head and shoulders above the other wine barrel beers.
