3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle 48/384. Shared with Dosbeerigos for his 29th Bday. Had a pleasant sour aroma, hints of cherries etc, but the flavor didnít really match up all the much. It tasted like a stout that got infected, somewhat like Black Tot. I guess I just wanted a little bit more sourness in this one.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Shared at a tasting hosted by Steve Hackley on September 25. Thanks Steve! This was poured from a 22 oz bottle. The pour is a light black with heavy brown influences coming through and a thinner light tan head that offers a couple wispy legs of lace as it recedes. The aroma is something else. There is a strong cherry up front. Itís a combination of sweet and sour cherries. I like it. There is a decent funkiness thatís going on behind them. Iíve heard people refer that this smells like a sour brown, and theyíre kind of right. There is a wet oak present, and some light cocoa and roast. It is not quite as good as a sour stout, but itís somewhere in the middle. The flavor is a bit different. There is a nice tartness up front, followed up by a pretty hefty roasty chocolate malt. There is a little barrel in it, but for the most part, the Cabernet seems to vanish. This is pretty welcome with some of the wine-barreled beers Iíve had. The mouth feel is decently thick with a nice carbonation and a lingeringly boozy cherry finish. The alcohol does poke through on the back end. This thing is pretty good for a beer Iíve never even heard of.

Bottle. Pours reddish black with small head. Aroma and flavor very Flemish In nature. Smells like chocolate covered dark cherry funk with light herbal qualities. Flavor of sour cherries, cabarnet, vinegar, must, and light chocolate. Flavor is very similar to a Flemish or lambic as well. Quite interesting

Bomber shared by ClarkVV. Batch A3 bottle 404 dated 8/15. Thanks Clark! Poured about an ounce in about 2oz of Caravaggio and that tasted pretty damn good. Letís see what itís like on its own. Pours dark amber with a beige head. Aroma is chocolate, cherry lifesaver. Flavor is chocolate, tart cherry. Tastes better in the Caravaggio.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Interesting beer but it suffers from a thin feel. The beer has a good aroma - cherries, wine, chocolate, roast. Feel was oddly watery and it really washed out the flavor. I donít quite know what Iím reacting, but recently, Iíve had a few barrel-aged beers that seem to have really thinned out in the barrel.
