COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The character pictured on the front of this label is Jonathan Holmberg. Jonathan has been a bartender at what now is Jackie O’s for the past 15 years. In 2004 he helped me get my foot in the door and has been a dear friend ever since. Jonathan is a true eccentric and this beer is nothing short of that. Our robust porter was placed into Cabernet barrels eight months ago. Wild yeast and Lactobacillus were added to the barrels to give the beer a tart edge and some very rustic and fruity qualities. Sixty pounds of tart cherries were added to each barrel to take this beer in a unique direction. Notes of cherries, oak, chocolate, wine, and leather all find a special spot in this brew. Cab Cherry Man is a beer that can stand up to the antiquing, joking, halloween-loving, and sweet personality that is Jonathan’s. Cheers, buddy! -Brad Clark, brewer

22 oz. bottle; pours clear, dark brown with trace white head; smells really nice cherry cookies; dry malt and vanilla; stale, spoiled cherries and red wine; smells better than it tastes, but that’s about the only good thing about this one; ugh

22oz bottle courtesy moejuck. Darkest rust/ruby/brown with just a few tan bubbles. Sweet and tart cherries- juice, flesh, and skins- some barrel funk, and subtle notes of roasty malt in the aroma. Smells great. Flavor adds a ton of vinous dark fruit, earthy cocoa, oxidation, tannic oak, and hints of vanilla. Medium body, smoother than balanced. The low carbonation works very well with the tart and tannic nature of this brew. Dry, sour, tannic finish. Great brew.

A-pours a dark black color with a tan colored head. S-notes of wood, sweet cherries, very juicy red wines aromas, light dark malts, hints of chocolate, light creaminess, hint of medicinal and some lactic notes. T-lots of dark sweet cherries, juicy red zinfendale, light tartness, notes of wood, milk chocolate and malt starts to come in with creamy vanilla, lactic acid, with a touch of medicinal. M-medium creamy body, very smooth and soft with a nicely carbonated finish. D-nice balance and very interesting. dark cherries and balanced make it like a chocolate covered cherry with a nice balance. very enjoyable, one of the best beers I’ve had from Jackie O’s.

Bomber from StFun: 113 out of 300 and some odd number... Label looks a little different.. pink 70’s trippy jesus looking dude on it. Color, threw me off, dark, almost a light stout color with a little head full of lively little bubbles. Nice nose on this! Light cherries, some black cherries notes... Taste is very toned down, (in a good way) not the sourness that I was expecting but still very tasty. Well balanced with some other dark fruits and some Cab notes. Light body for porter base. Overall: A unique sour, that I enjoyed. Thanks Josh!

Bottled 11/22/2009...#80/156...thanks JohnGalt1!!! - Pours dk and clear brown with a tiny ring of beige head...aroma is chemically cherry, lt roast and some cocoa...flavour is similar, although incredibly thin, sour, old fruit, cocoa, lightly sour finish...this one was a bit of a disappointment...
