COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The character pictured on the front of this label is Jonathan Holmberg. Jonathan has been a bartender at what now is Jackie Os for the past 15 years. In 2004 he helped me get my foot in the door and has been a dear friend ever since. Jonathan is a true eccentric and this beer is nothing short of that. Our robust porter was placed into Cabernet barrels eight months ago. Wild yeast and Lactobacillus were added to the barrels to give the beer a tart edge and some very rustic and fruity qualities. Sixty pounds of tart cherries were added to each barrel to take this beer in a unique direction. Notes of cherries, oak, chocolate, wine, and leather all find a special spot in this brew. Cab Cherry Man is a beer that can stand up to the antiquing, joking, halloween-loving, and sweet personality that is Jonathans. Cheers, buddy! -Brad Clark, brewer

Bottle shared by Thorpe429, who has generously shared many Jackie Os brews of late. Thanks Mike! Bottle 354 / 384 2011 vintage The beer is a dark brown (reddish tints) color, with a small, thin head that leaves but a touch of lacing on the glass. The aroma and taste are consistent with one another: barrels, a tannic presence, wine, cherries. The flavor is decent, with an acetic finish. The feel is medium bodied with a solid carbonation level. Overall, a decent and interesting brew and one that I would be happy to have again. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 04-13-2011

Wow, sour cherry awesomeness! The aroma is sour cherries on top of a smooth malt base. It looks dark brown with a ruby hue and decent head. The great smooth flavor of tart cherries on a nice sour base, Delicious!

Bottle shared at Huny day. Brown pour with no head. The body is really thin on this one. Cherry nose. Sort of like a sour bruin with more cherry notes.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2013 Cellared 2011 bomber shared, and poured to snifters displaying a darkest brown color, with ruby highlighting, little to no head & lacing, but a bit of leggy coating on the glass. The nose was controlled yeasty funk, dark red wine, chocolate, cherry, and a touch of underlying roastiness. The taste had more of a lingering sour nature to it, with cherry, barrel/tanniny astringency, and dryness to the finish. Held up quite well, although much of the Porter profile faded, and the alcohol mellowed.

Thanks to someone for sharing this at RBSG. Pours out dark brown with a thin off white head. Aroma is of cherry, light chocolate, and some oaky wine notes. Taste is of chocolate, light roast, cherries, and some oak with a slight bit of alcohol on the finish. Solid.

Bottle: Nose was distinctive with dark cherries and chocolate and a vinious, cabernet note in the finish. The cherry fumes gave off a touch of tarness, but it was mostly dark chocolate and cherries. The beer pours brown with an interesting red tint within. Head is tan and just a ring around the glass edge. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel..maybe a bit too thin, but still able to carry the nice vivid cherry character throughout. Oaky vinious notes are driving this from beginning to end. The alcohol is seemingly unnoticed in the flavors but certainly noticed in its warming effect. The only fault is the light body, but that might be whats making this beer work so good...so who knows. The cherries and cab barrell influence are making this a very refined experience. quite nice.

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of cherries, almonds, wood, chocolate, pumpernickel, bread and apple skin. Taste is dry and medium sour with notes of lemons, apples, cherries, almonds and wood. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Really nice.

Large shared bottle poured red-brown. Quite dark with a bubbly weak head. The aroma has a nice cherry note but the cherry component is much diminished in tasting. Light-moderate tartness with a light bitterness in the finish. Slightly boozy.

thanks for trade with Tmoney99 --- Cloudy dark ruby with no head, no lace. Looks like wine. Taste is tart cherry wine with some wood and leather (like the bottle says). No change through the palate and finish. 2012 bottle, so it has aged a bit. Interesting, but youll have to prove to me that it is a beer and not a dry wine.
