3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by Thorpe429, who has generously shared many Jackie O’s brews of late. Thanks Mike!
Bottle 354 / 384
The beer is a dark brown (reddish tints) color, with a small, thin head that leaves but a touch of lacing on the glass. The aroma and taste are consistent with one another: barrels, a tannic presence, wine, cherries. The flavor is decent, with an acetic finish. The feel is medium bodied with a solid carbonation level. Overall, a decent and interesting brew and one that I would be happy to have again.

Wow, sour cherry awesomeness! The aroma is sour cherries on top of a smooth malt base. It looks dark brown with a ruby hue and decent head. The great smooth flavor of tart cherries on a nice sour base, Delicious!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 11, 2013 Cellared 2011 bomber shared, and poured to snifters displaying a darkest brown color, with ruby highlighting, little to no head & lacing, but a bit of leggy coating on the glass. The nose was controlled yeasty funk, dark red wine, chocolate, cherry, and a touch of underlying roastiness. The taste had more of a lingering sour nature to it, with cherry, barrel/tanniny astringency, and dryness to the finish. Held up quite well, although much of the Porter profile faded, and the alcohol mellowed.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at Huny day. Brown pour with no head. The body is really thin on this one. Cherry nose. Sort of like a sour bruin with more cherry notes.

Thanks to someone for sharing this at RBSG. Pours out dark brown with a thin off white head. Aroma is of cherry, light chocolate, and some oaky wine notes. Taste is of chocolate, light roast, cherries, and some oak with a slight bit of alcohol on the finish. Solid.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Large shared bottle poured red-brown. Quite dark with a bubbly weak head.
The aroma has a nice cherry note but the cherry component is much diminished in tasting. Light-moderate tartness with a light bitterness in the finish. Slightly boozy.

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of cherries, almonds, wood, chocolate, pumpernickel, bread and apple skin. Taste is dry and medium sour with notes of lemons, apples, cherries, almonds and wood. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Really nice.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
thanks for trade with Tmoney99 --- Cloudy dark ruby with no head, no lace. Looks like wine. Taste is tart cherry wine with some wood and leather (like the bottle says). No change through the palate and finish. 2012 bottle, so it has aged a bit. Interesting, but you’ll have to prove to me that it is a beer and not a dry wine.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Nose was distinctive with dark cherries and chocolate and a vinious, cabernet note in the finish. The cherry fumes gave off a touch of tarness, but it was mostly dark chocolate and cherries. The beer pours brown with an interesting red tint within. Head is tan and just a ring around the glass’ edge. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel..maybe a bit too thin, but still able to carry the nice vivid cherry character throughout. Oaky vinious notes are driving this from beginning to end. The alcohol is seemingly unnoticed in the flavors but certainly noticed in its warming effect. The only fault is the light body, but that might be whats making this beer work so good...so who knows. The cherries and cab barrell influence are making this a very refined experience. quite nice.
