Taste: Medium sweetness with faint hints of sourness at the very edges.
Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, long finish
Overall: A solid, well developed beer. Very nutty, but hints of dry fruit and chocolate to add some depth.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. can, thanks to Treebute. Pours black, with a small, creamy, beige head. The aroma is bittersweet chocolate, coffee, raisins, molasses and light cinnamon. Heavy, malty sweetness, with just a touch of earthy bitterness. Medium body, chalky, and thick. Overall, this is a nice, flavorful brown ale, with lots of chocolate and dark fruits.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
on tap @ Dutch’s / Cincinnati OH --- Clear dark brown with a thin rim head (by the time it got to my table), light streamers of lace. Taste is roasted malt with caramel entering in the palate, along with a sort of oily fruit presence. All of it moves quickly to a short finish. Drinkable, but way down the list of good brown ales.

Can thanks to DrSilverworm. Dark brown pour without much head. Really nice aroma of cookies, dark bread, dark fruit, and banana cake. Taste starts with a nice cookie sweetness and dark fruit. Finishes with bread and some grassy, earthy hop bite. Very good brown.

12 oz can from Heinen’s Hudson OH: Chestnut brown body w/ a lasting off white head; Aroma is toasty, nutty, chocolate-y, light caramel, and sweet honey. The flavor is lightly bitter in the finish, chocolate, caramel, toasty malt; with a touch of some dark fruit. A little bit of a burnt dark malt is what I get out of the finish, which is a bit distracting, but it’s not bad. Mouth feel is a fuller medium body with a lower medium carbonation; smooth overall mouth feel. I like the overall flavor of this beer, with the exception of the dark grain bitterness that I find just a touch harsh, but it is acceptable given the complexity of the malts.

Draft at the Trolley Stop in Dayton. Pours dark brown with a thick, bubbly tan head and lots of lacing. Feels smooth and frothy, dry. Tastes like semi-sweet chocolate, molasses, burnt coffee, bitter and sweet. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like malt, burnt toast, and bitter coffee.
