Tasted on 4/28/12 with the Nashville and Knoxville crews at Curtis’ old house, big thanks to JR for bringing this one. Pours nearly black dark brown with no head, but a few tan bubbles. The nose is malted milk and tons of dusty dark chocolate with chocolate syrup aroma. The flavor is a bit sweet with malted milk, dark chocolate syrup, vanilla, and coconut. The body is full with nearly no carbonation and a long dark chocolate, vanilla, and coconut finish.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown to black in color with a thin beige head. Nose is dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and wood. The flavor is the same; dark roasted malts, bourbon, dark chocolate, vanilla and woody. Smooth mouth feel and quite tasty. Recent bottle was noticeably flatter than my original tastes, but still tasty.

Strong aroma of malted milk and Swiss miss powder. Color is deep brown, flat. Flavor is light, bourbon, roasted marshmallows. Palate leaves an alcohol sting.

S- Moderate to heavy complex toasted malt, vannila, wood and bourbon alcohol aroma. T - Medium to heavy toasted chocolate malt, vanilla, and bourbon flavor with a medium to heavy toasted dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. M - Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. D - My expectation where exceeded.

Opaque black color with a thin, tan head that left sticky lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, bourbon, roasted malts, dark chocolate, lght burnt wood, and some alcohol as well. Taste of dark chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla, bourbon, coffee, lighter dark fruits, and alcohol.

12oz bottle from George. Rating #22. Pitch black pour with no head whatsoever. Big bourbon and vanilla nose, dark fruits and black licorice and booze. Lighter flavor than I was expecting, light roast and a little smokey actually, very light on the bourbon and a little thin, but the alcohol was well hidden, pretty nice. (1619)

Bottle courtesy jtclockwork. Oily black pour with basically no head. Big fudge aroma with plenty of bourbon, coconut, and more. Big chocolatey flavor loaded with barrel character and a hint of ash. Nice!

Bottle with many thanks to Brad. Pours deep dark oily black. Incredible nose of dark chocolate, bourbon, barrel, vanilla, roast coffee and vanilla. Taste of roast chocolate malt, bourbon, coffee, vanilla and lots of barrel. Soft and velvety.

Bottle shared at a recent BA/RB tasting... Poured dark near black with a light tan head. Some cookie dough sweetness, oak and bourbon-ness. Malts were toasty with a decent booziness. Thought the roastiness was slightly low. But a damn fine beer.
