Sampled at RBWG 2010. The pour is black. The aroma is big hot alcohol with chocolate. The flavor is big milk chocolate as well. Nice stuff!

Bottle. Pours a black body with a tan head. Molasses and chocolate malts, a mild nutty and coffee bitterness. Sweet with a modest warming chocolate and a mild roastiness. Nice IS.

Not sure I would consider this an imperial stout as it felt a bit thin and not terribly complex. It honestly reminded me a bit of a brown ale...kinda weird. But, the regular suspects were there....roast and chocolate, some coffee...

22 oz bottle. Dark, almost black, that pours still with a few tan bubbles. Nose is molasses, chocolate, coffee and wood. Medium body with a faint tingle. Taste is bittersweet chocolate, burnt sugar, greens and licorice.

Thax kan for this sample. Oily black with almost no head. Ashy tart roasted malts. Cocoa chocolate burnt flavors with dark fruit cherries and bitter citrus and roast. Light carbonation long fruit bitter finish. Too much fruit here.

22oz bottle from sliffy... Pours a deep black with just a hint of lighter reddish brown hues that is topped off with a thin wispy tan head... Aroma of roasted malt and semirich chocolate with a little char... Flavors are smokey with char and ash upfront with thinner chocolate body. Somewhat cola-ish with a bitter twang in the finish.

Bottle shared by ygtbsm94 on 1/10/10: Pours an oily opaque with a few stray spotty beige bubbles. Has a rich dark caramel and milk chocolate nose with some toasty doughy yeasty notes and roasted coffee. Starts with good fairly rich dark caramel and chocolate sweetness with some earthy piny hops. Finishes smooth and bittersweet with a touch of warmth. A pretty good imperial stout.

Once again thanks to Cliff for sharing this as we closed up the night. Jackie O’s is another place I want to get to in the near future but unfortunately Athens is a bit out of the way from the Cleveland-Columbus corridor. Perhaps this summer or fall I will venture down during the summer break when things should be quieter.
Aroma / Appearance - The sticky clear lacing sheeted down the glass and coagulated into a dense black oily body. The nose was everything you would expect from a solid imperial stout including coffee, toffee chews, chocolate, roasted malt, and black cherry pits.
Flavor / Palate - The first sip is pure espresso. Soon though the wave of caramel and smoke drags it kicking and screaming to a malty anise finish. It could be a little thicker and chewier but in general there are no fault here. I hope I get to try the barrel aged version in contrast some day.
