This hauntingly good brew in your hand is rife with dark complexities. Eleven malts were used to create deep flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. A hint of bitterness and herbal character from carefully selected American hops help support the monolithic maltiness of Dark Apparition. A truly decadent brew that is intended to be poured into your favorite snifter and given time to warm up from its dark and cold resting place. Be aware when in the presence of Dark Apparition ’cause this ghost is a creeper.

Thanks to pantanap. Nice full roasty dark chocolate aroma, light bit of grassiness, fruit and a touch of alcohol, crunchy roast. Pours a thick oily looking dark brown with a small head. Flavor is of dark chocolate syrup, bit acidic, somewhat sharp and sweet, maybe a bit one dimensional. Thinner bodied, smooth slick and creamy, bit oily.

courtesy of stfun, thanks for this gem! great lil 6 oz hand bottle, nice carb, no air in bottle. pours a thick still black with a late rising faint brown skim on the surface. the aroma is light and bright with cherries, woodiness and a porter like profile almost. the taste is much more stout like, but still a nice refreshing quality coming in at the end that i cant name. especially strange since it is thick and oily on the palate, and has a long laster after taste. there is coffee, chocolate, tar, slight smoke, lots of roast, medium burnt; and a pretty strong tobacco profile in the backend. great stuff, delivered in great condition!

Courtesy of Stfun...just like all my other awesome beer. Was lucky to have this and Oil of Aphrodite with eachother. This beer pours a pitch black with a thin tan/brown head that smells like caramel, tons of malt, an oatmeal raisin cookie, more oatmeal, molasses. At the first sip it just coats your palate. Definitely a chewy consistency of roasty, dry malt, brown sugar, oatmeal, awesome palate coating deliciousness. The mouthfeel on the end is basically the same as after you suck/chew on those little bricks of caramel... very dry, sweet, thick, but still coated end to end with the flavor. Really nice brew

RBSG Tasting. Some chocolate. Weird fruitiness. And strange special roast? Flavor is much better though. Special roast? works well here. (Note: maybe it’s the munich, honey malt, special b combo).

Shared at the 2010 RBSG Grand Tasting by either the cbus crew or Kan, thanks whoever it was. Poured black with a brown head that dissipated slowly. Aroma was full of coffee with some dark grains and roasted malts. Flavor had a bit of dark fruit with coffee, chocolate, roasted malts and a bit of caramel. Nice and thick on the tongue.

Bottle 26 of 72 Once again a nig thanks to JohnGalt1. Pours out a black topped with a small tan head just hanging on around the edge of the glass. Aroma was of rich dark roast, vanilla, light pit fruit sweetness, and a little cocoa. Taste was more of the dark roast and vanilla. A nice sweet and bitter end with molasses and cocoa showing threw.

bomber; bottle 58 of 72; thanks to goryshkewych for the trade; oily dark brown with trace tan head; cola malts and powdered chocolate on the nose; thin texture and mouthfeel; black patent malt and touch of chocolate and coffee; crazy dry finish with ashy chocolate; some sweetness in the roast, nut not much; a decent light stout overall

Thanks Ben – Black in color, clear with a thin head. Lots of coffee, chocolate and tobacco in the nose. The flavor was rich with chocolate and tobacco. Tons of great flavors there was also a lingering earth flavor.

Another awesome brew shared by the Seattle crew, thanks Ben! Pours a murky brown color with a dark brown small head. The aroma is sweet cocoa, ash and earthy peat. The flavor is similar; rich peat and earthy flavors, dark fruit, smooth cocoa and roasted malts, tobacco. Dry and slightly thin.
