COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This hauntingly good brew in your hand is rife with dark complexities. Eleven malts were used to create deep flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. A hint of bitterness and herbal character from carefully selected American hops help support the monolithic maltiness of Dark Apparition. A truly decadent brew that is intended to be poured into your favorite snifter and given time to warm up from its dark and cold resting place. Be aware when in the presence of Dark Apparition cause this ghost is a creeper.

Bottle. Have had before at brewpub. Superspak has not had it and that makes me a sad panda.

Bottle into glass. Nose is raisins, dark fruit, roast, lactose, and more. Sip adds coffee and grounds. Chewy. Complex bitterness with straightforward sweetness. Not a summer drink. Interesting.

Bottle. Black pour with a small head that fades to a nice ring, leaves some lacing. Aroma is big chocolate, raisins, vanilla, caramel, and light espresso. Tastes like molasses, chocolate, and caramel mostly. Big raisin and dark fruit finish. Medium body. Solid but a bit too sweet for me to love.

"A well rounded imperial stout. Chocolate, roast, caramel, coffee, char in equal measure. Not quite a standout in style (and my 3rd favorite Jackie Os stout out of 4) but still pretty dang good. Quite smooth and drinkable."

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy chocolate, light-moderate molasses, dark fruits, light roasted malt, and a hint of espresso. As it warms, some vanilla notes start to come out and alcohol becomes a little noticeable. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a three finger light brown head that has pretty good retention before eventually fading to a thick film. There is some light webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a moderate-heavy chocolate and molasses combination along with some light caramel. There are some light dark fruits that show up in the middle. The finish has light-moderate roasted malt, light espresso, faint vanilla, and just a hint of the 10.5% abv. Its full bodied with soft carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel. Overall, this beer seemed to grow on me more and more with each sip.
