From a growler. Pours hazy orangish glow with a nice white head. Good amount of citrus hop aroma on the nose. Flavor of orange, grapefruit, and sweet malt. Bittering, dry finish. Good double IPA.

Draft at Dutch’s. Pours a clear golden color with a large fluffy white head that leaves thick lace. The aroma and flavor have a welcoming tropical fruit character, citrus, some sweet caramel malts, a white pepper spicy touch witha moderate bitterness to the finish. Very drinkable, solid offering ffrom a not quite so local brewery.

On tap at Dutch’s. Perfectly clear golden orange color. Good off-white head, fades to a thin amount, leaves plenty good lace. Bigger body. Smooth, lighter lightly soft carbonation. Good fullness to the texture. Big bitter taste, light to moderate sweetness, light alcohol heat to it. Very big resiny tropical fruity and citrusy hop aroma to it. Light hoppy bite in the finish. Some caramel. Excellent, complex DIPA.

Draft. Poured clear light copper color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus earthy hop aroma. Medium to full body with dry slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

Draft to snifter at Dutch’s. Looks good; a transparent golden orange with foamy white head. Smells good too; nice and hoppy with big peach notes and a fairly sweet pale malt backbone. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. A good example of the style!

Drat at the source. Hazy golden color, fluffy white head. Aroma of beautiful tropical fruit. Taste is bitter peach, mango. Delicious.

Tap at the brewery. Pours clear copper with a medium, frothy white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is biscuit and honey malt, earthy, herbal, pine, and citrus hops with pear, apricot, and apple esters. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, supporting lightly sweet biscuit malt, light fruity esters and a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

This is the most drinkable double IPA I’ve ever tried. I had to try and not drink it down as fast as I could. I was even more surprised when I found out it was a beer from Athens.

Sample at The Ohio Taproom. The beer is a clear copper-orange color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to a wispy film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruits, hops and malt. Medium to full chewy body with flavors of resiny hops, melons, citrus and grainy malt. The finish is malty up front with a lingering citrusy hops aftertaste. Good beer all around, and for a good cause to boot.

Sample and then a glass at the brewpub on 11/16/13. Clear gold to amber pour with a medium off-white head. Delightful aroma of orange, pine and grapefruit with sweet malt. Flavor starts malty, quickly turning to sweet orange and piney hops before a bitter grapefruit finish with a slight alcohol burn. Mighty tasty!
