Brown with a hinto red pour and no head or lace. Roasted malt, coffee, and a hinto chocolate. Followed by a good malt bitter. Full bodied with good carbonation. A beer I liked.

The porter pours dark black coffee in color with a decent tan head on top. The aroma is smooth coffee, with light bitter and even lighter sweet malt notes. The flavors of roasted malts, coffee dominant smooth, and chocolate come through nicely on a medium body.

Pours near black with a good mocha head with moderate retention and a nice cap as it falls. The nose is quite nice with a load of roasted malt as well as a nice chocolate presence. A few hops in the background add a nice dose of complexity. The taste is pretty roasty with a nice chocolate presence to back it up. Good balance between sweetness and roast in the feel. Drinks quite well and is another solid hit out of Athens.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub. Pours a reddish brown color with a medium tan head. Fairly poor head retention. No lacing. Aroma of rich, sweet roasted malts and coffee. The taste is roasted malts, coffee, cherries, bitter dark chocolate and a faint bit of smoke. Medium bodied. Nice.

Draft @ Jackie Oís. Pours dark brown with reddish highlights and a sizable tan head. The aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate and a hint of some toasted bread. The flavor has a nice roasted malt base with additional notes of chocolate and nuts. The finish is moderately bitter. I canít speak to the earlier versions of this beer, but it is a solid drinking porter today.

On tap at the brewpub, poured in a shaker pint. I think the stated ABV at the time was closer to 6 or 7 %. Nice, thick foamy brown head leaving good lace. Nice, light crisp carbonation, dry texture. Bigger body, but very drinkable. Nice, roasty dark chocolate flavor. Good bitter sweet taste. Good long sweet toasty dark malt aftertaste. Very well-done, respectable porter.

Tap sample at brewpub. Poured hazy dark brown hue with an average creamy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted chocolate malt aroma. Medium to ful body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Flavor was moderate toasted balanced sweet with an average bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good brew.

Poured a dark brown with a small tan head. Nose was pretty choco-roasty, a little fruity. Taste is classic roasted malt with appropriate hop bitterness as backup. Initially I didnít notice, but this one has quite a carbonation issue---a bit too much. The hops never quite make a statement in this...a bit too sweet in the end. .
