Hazy golden color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of brett, stone fruit, wood, some vanilla, toast and toffee. Taste of citrus, apple, wild yeast, wood, some vanilla, and a sour finish.

It pours clear yellow with a deep orange hue and small white head. The aroma is awesome - light sour funk sweetness that is so pleasant in the nose. The flavor is just as smooth as the aroma, it tastes light funky and tangy that has no bite or puckering at all on the palate. The body is the perfect carbonation for the style as well, so balanced just as Beace would do. One of my favorite from the brewery easily.

22oz Bottle. Thanks for sharing Sean! Tart, dry cottony and noticeably Brett aroma. Itís got that chalky, pellicle-driven aroma. Flavors span spicy to waxy. Thereís a slight green bitterness in the finish that Iím guessing comes from the paw paw fiber. The tanginess and Brett qualities are very, very nice. As it warms, the paw paw contributes a complex nut-like quality to the beer, reminding me of macadamias and walnuts. This is a fun and unique example of combining fruit with sour ale brewing.

Draft sample. Poured a hazy chalky yellow color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy sour and yeast aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sour & sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is also a standout beer for style.

Had this at the August 27th bottle release. 4 oz from a tasting snifter.
4.0 A: Nearly opaque yellow orange color. Came without much of a head, but lacing was plentiful.
4.0 S: Funky is a good descriptor of this. Orchard and barn type funk with wet hay as well. Hops are herbal, slightly citrusy with a lemony twang, and flowery. Clean.
4.0 T: Perfect amount of hop to funk. Refreshing and crisp. Like the nose, there is barnyard and orchard funk with herbal and citrus hops.
3.5 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Reasonably creamy for the body. I just wish this was a bit thicker.
4.0 D: Good refreshing, funky beer.

Bottle. Pours radioactive apricot. Nose and taste of mildly tart tropical fruits, Brett, mango and oak. Lots of soft carbonation. Medium body. Well balanced. Moderate tartness. Finishes with lots of fresh tropical fruits.

bottle picked up at the release... medium cloudy peach, a watery light tan head... tons of brett on the nose with some oak, a nice acidic citrus note to it, really like it... I donít get any fruit on the taste wish I did and this could be epic, as is its still great, lots of smooth brett, the more I drink I start to get some mango flavors I presume are the pawpaws... really good

From the whiteboard: "Pale ale brewed with local pawpaw fruit. Then funked up for 3 months on Brett.". On tap at the 5th Anniversary party.
Pours a moderate orange color with a bit of a pinkish hue and some slight haze. Thereís a good white head with a bit of lacing. The aroma is really great with fruit elements consisting of a combination of mango, banana, and grapefruit, also adding in a bit of white pepper. There is a really nice funk intermingling with the fruit and spice in addition to a nice lactic character.
The flavor is quite nice as well. This is a very fine blend of fruit, funk, and acidity. I really enjoyed the interplay and would love to have some pawpaw fruit after trying this. Good body and carbonation with a great finish. Incredibly drinkable and unique--I really hope this one eventually gets bottled. A great preview of what I hope are many more sours and other barrel-aged brews.
