3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 5000 (4969) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - DEC 6, 2012
Bottle:   Deep dirty honey, a little orangish, thin frothy off-white head, little lacing.   Somewhat of a tropical/candyish fruity aroma.   Not a bright floral aroma in the standard sense.   Has a sweet fruity start, a bit citrusy, and perhaps with a bit of honey.   Otherwise a big fruity breadiness from start to finish.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes moreso fruity than floral.   Not a big floral example, moreso fruity, but very clean.   Decent, very average, more fruity than floral.

Nice aromas of citrus, apple, fruity yeast. Flavors follow, w/ more sweet & slightly sour apple. Light, refreshing. Some wine-like qualities. Good!

Had this one at Daks. Very tasty. Straw, grassy and citrus aromas. Tart apple with more citrus and spices followed by a nice honey sweetness. Somewhat dry in the taste and the finish. Reminds me of a strong Saison.

It pours gold with off white thin head of foam. The aroma offers up apples and yeasty spices, mild tart notes around the edges and more yeastiness at the end of the draw. The taste is similar with apple and pear like fruity esters mixing with various yeasty spices and a bit of tartness that seems a touch acidic. Yes! Great mix of flavors for the style keeping it plenty interesting.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ughsmash (6669) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 15, 2012
Bomber, 2011 vintage, #66/360. Poured clear, light golden-orange with a very short cap of white head. The aroma picked up soft bread and honey notes topped by a fairly aggressive dose of light fruit and floral yeasty notes.. lesser mango, pomegranate, and agave too.. some interesting stuff, but it was too assertive. The flavor opened with sour lemon and wheaty notes, followed by semi-sweet honey and much lesser biscuity notes.. sharp metallic and medicinal notes plus more honey and muddled fruit through the long, sticky finish. Medium-bodied and long-lasting (not a good thing) on the palate.. age seemed to hit this really quick (benefit of the doubt), but it wasn’t a good approach to a tripel for me.

22 oz. bottle shared by bsuedekum- thanks again, Blake! 2011 vintage, bottle 298/360. Highest bottle count I’ve seen for a Jackie O’s bottle, I think. Pours a clear gold with a small white ring for a head. Aroma of honey, straw, candi sugar, sweet malts, and cereal. The flavor has more honey, caramel and sweet malts, apricot, peach, and earthy grains. Medium-bodied, with a sweet mouthfeel and a bit of juiciness before a dry finish. Moderate carbonation. A bit better on the palate than the sweeter, busier Kentucky Monk and also more subdued, even if the barrel makes that one pop a bit more.

Pours clear golden-orange with a white head. Aroma is earthy and fruity. Taste is sweet with more earthiness. Medium bodied and a dry finish. Pretty good.

22 ounce bomber. Unfiltered golden yellow color with a light white head. Nice Tripel that’s refreshing other than real sweet. Lemon zest.

Pours unclear orange amber thick in color with a white light tan head. The aroma is sweet and a bit citrusy, some subtle earthy honey notes. The body is thick, sweet and not as spicy as a traditional Belgian, maybe from the honey. Ends dry on the palate and a bit earthy as well.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 boFNjackson (3574) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 2, 2012
Bottle at a BA/RB tasting... Poured hazy amber with a thin head. This was nice. Jackie-Os always seems to make solid beers whether it’s one of their amazing Stout offerings and a Belgian inspired variant. This was clean, nice malt sweetness, and then accentuated honey sweetness along with some yeast esters and spice.
