From the news section of Jackie-Os website: "Hop Ryot has hit the taps and I believe that this is the finest IPA that we have produced here at Jackie Os. Get to the pub to try this rye IPA, or look for it on draft at Bodega in Columbus." ... On the chalkboard-menu in the bar (as of spring 2011): "So freakin good!"

Pale orange pour from a can at OMalleys in the Alley in Cincinnati. Lemon and tropical aroma. Hoppy and dry. Bitter. Citrus. Not bad.

12 oz can into a lager glass. Appearance: Pours a slighty hazy yellow gold with a moderate size off-white head. Very nice lacing. Good retention. Aroma: Strong and hoppy ... an IPA I could smell right after popping the tab. Fruity and a bit pungent, with tropical fruits that include pineapple. Flavor: The substantial hop load imparts abundant tropical fruit notes. Theres a bit of added complexity from the rye. The bitterness is medium: lower than the hoppy aroma suggests, and perhaps a touch lower than average for a 2015 American IPA (no complaints here).. Good balance. Mouthfeel: Medium-light. Crisp, medium-high carbonation. Overall: recommended, especially as a Rye IPA. I had this paired with another Ohio Rye IPA, Four String Skeleton Red IPA: The Jackie Os was way more fruity, less earthy, less bitter, more complex, better balanced and lighter colored, but sported a less frothy and durable head.

Sample on tap @ Vintage Estates. Pours a clear pale with a white head. Aroma is flowery with hints of bread and grass. Taste is only slightly bitter but it has nice flavoring and a hint of rye to balance it out. Pretty good and enjoyable.

Very light gold, fluffy white head. Nose is bready malt, peppery, lemony, hops. A bit grassy. Flavor is peppery, lemon, some pine & pith. A bit dusty in terms of malt. Reminds me a bit of racer 5.

Can. It poured a hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma was of citrus, hops, biscuit and apple esters. The taste was similar to the aroma with moderate hops and heavy bitterness, some light maltiness and a dry finish. Very nice.

Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a hazy bright golden color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was gritty and leafy fruity and floral hops. The flavor was bitter, tangy and sour with leafy floral and fruity hops. Long finish. Medium body. Ok.

Poured into a perfect pint. 4.0 A: Moderately hazed light orange color. Two fingers of frothy/creamy off-white head. Retention is good and a finger of lacing is left. 3.75 S: Pleasant intermingling of earthy and grassy hops with the earthy spiciness of the rye. Toasted malts underneath. On the drier side, but well balanced overall. 3.5 T: Same as the nose. Earthy spicy rye, earthy and grassy hops, toasted malts. 3.5 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Light creaminess and super smooth. 3.75 D: Pretty solid overall. ★ 541 characters DavoleBomb, Mar 29, 2014

Can. Pours a hazy gold with a massive white head. Aromas of piney, resiny citrus hops. Flavors are creamy bitter citrus and substantial breadiness followed with resiny hop flavors. Smooth finish. Somewhat oily mouthfeel with a hoppy prickliness on the tongue. Not a typical hop-hammer IPA. Smooth, bready and laid back. Very nice.

Pour from a 12oz can at the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge. Light amber brew iwth white head. Aroma of pine, fruit, citrus. Taste is dry with a notable rye presence, bitter, hops forward with a fine mix of resin and citrus hops. A little less refined and smooth than their mystic mamma IPA but excellent nonetheless.
