On tap at Jackie O’s. Pours a light and fizzy gold with a nose of pears and slight pepper but a hint of butter. Flavor is pretty meh in my book and the slight buttery edge didn’t do it for me.

phaleslu (6509) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 2, 2014
Draft at Jackie-O’s. Pours a clear, pale, bright gold without much of a head. Notes of hay, crackers, dry grains, grass, and pale malts. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a dry, malty mouthfeel. Good Kolsch.

Taster on tap at Jackie-O’s during their 8th Anniversary, on the brewpub side. As far as I know, this is the first lager Jackie-O’s has ever done, making this particularly intriguing. Completely clear golden color. Thin white head. Good ropes and splotches of lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, soft, lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Moderate bready, lightly peppery aroma. Hint of citrus, light lagery bite. Bigger bitterness, more than typical for a kolsch. Light, nice savory taste. Decent, more bitter kolsch. Could be a little smoother. Just more assertive than the style typically is.

Dogbrick (8141) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 20, 2013
Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a clear golden color with a medium foamy white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Fruit, malt and yeast in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of fruity yeast, grain and malt. The finish is fruity up front with a biscuit malt aftertaste. Decent overall.
