Had on tap during the Feb release. Dark muddy brown pour with a thin brown head. Aroma is heavy in the dark fruit category with subtle hints of oaky tannins. Flavor is lightly smokey, with hints of toffee, oak, bourbon and plums.

I had this on tap at the release and this is review from the bottle. The bottle version was better...Dark brown looks like coca cola, a light tan head that is light and whispy...The aroma is the star of this, simply outstanding. Sweet grapes, plums, peat, scotch, light char. The first whiff is sweet fruits with scotch, a really great combo...The taste doesn’t represent the nose as well, too much of the scotch comes out loses most of the sweet plums that really balanced the nose. There is a nice creamy finish which is certainly interesting.
This is really good for a scotch ale, needs some tweaking on the taste but worth trying for sure.

22oz bottle thanks to Exiled.
Dark brown/near black pour with a small amount of head. First thing I smelled was plum with some additional dark fruit aroma and flavor. Slight hints of the bourbon aging - very complex. Nice smooth mouthfeel - this one seemed to get better and better the more I sipped.

Bottle thanks to exiled (2010 74/192). Pours with no head over a hazed deep brown body (so hazy I wrote the descriptor twice in my notes...and this was early on in the tasting...go figure). Aromas are ashy with bourbon, charred barrel, scotch, fruity and boozy. Flavors of alcohol, a bit vinous, lightly tart, plum and chocolate. Light bubbles and a bit thin.

Bottle shared by BOLTZ – thanks J! Pours black with a thin beige head. The nose is plums, sour plum skin and oaky vanilla. The taste is spice, chocolate, bourbon and slightly sour plums in the finish. Medium mouthfeel. Interesting and unique.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours very dark brown with a small, fat-bubbled head – gone in a flash. The bouquet offers dried dark fruits, bourbon and toasted oak with just a tinge of acidity. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and soft carbonation. The flavor presents rich caramel, splashes of red wine and crusted port, toffee and a very nice, moderate tartness. Finishes tangy and bittersweet with a kiss of caramel. Thanks to darkguardian for providing my sample of this world class Scotch ale!

’10 144/192 handwritten on the label. Shared with Ryan011235. I think we only have one more Jackie O’s bottle to get through.
I had this on tap at the BBDA/OoA release. I was really excited for it but was shocked when I actually tasted it. Here goes a real review:
A- On the pour the beer is a dark, rusty copper with dark shadows. It culiminates at a deep purple-black beer with a sandy. One ring of lace grabs before it fades. The beer is actually pretty clear. When held to the light it shines with dark ruby hues.
S- My review of Cellar Cuvee 4 talks about how these Jackie O’s beers all smell the same. Well, this one doesnt break the cycle at all. Granted, each beer has their own combination of the same musty oak, light bourbon, vanilla and some sort of sour yeast/plum skin aromas. This one weighs more heavily on the musty oak. Its a drier, dustier oak smell than the other beers from this release.
T- Without writing the same review over and over, this isnt too far off from all the others. Its quite a bit more tart though. The main flavors are an almost chemically sour fruit skin sourness. Moldy oak lends a woody and bourbony finish. Its actually kinda hot. There is nothing Scotch ale about this. No smokey or sweet malts.
M- SOOO damn dry. The beer moves through the mouth like parchment. Carbonation is pretty high too. Typically I like the sharp carbonation and bone dry finish pair with my sour beers, but this isnt really a sour.
D- As a big Wee Heavy fan I think I could love this without the tartness.

Bottle acquired via trade with alexsdad06!!! Really interesting and unique beer. Dark mahogany pour with a slight lavender hue and a nice creamy latte head. Aroma is dark fruit, can definitely detect the plum, with caramel and a little cocoa accompanying it. Get a bit of tartness from the plum skin with lots of peat, chocolate, and brown sugar. Don’t get a lot from the barrel. Glad I got a chance to try this!!!
