3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Poured a hazy golden color with a large frothy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy sour fruit, wood and sour yeast aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sour fruit flavor with a medium to heavy sour fruit and wood finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer for style.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99 at Fifty Fest. Thanks again, Tom! 2012 vintage, bottle 78/244. Pours a hazy gold with lively carbonation and a big off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruit (peach, mango, melon), lemon juice, sourdough, lots of oak, and an unusual briny note, which I guess is from how the acidity plays out- vinegar, slightly vegetal. Flavor of sour lemon citrus, tropical fruits, oak, tart candy, and some balancing malts. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a really tart mouthfeel. Very good sour.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared at Danís Birthday Tasting (Lyons, IL). Pours a pretty murky orange amber hue, a good glow with healthy orange and amber. A frothy tannish head dies to a mellow ring, gusher pour but the head dies down, mellow lacing. Aromas are richly sour, quite lovely with white wine, lemon, melon, and white grape. Touches of wet oak, lactic acidity on point. Some good sourness, good melon and grapefruit. Initial is very grapefruit driven, big citrus and sourness. Sour grapes, grapefruit juice, and mellow oak. Touches of vanilla, firm bretty funk meets a dominant lactic and fruity character, pineapple. Bigger sourness, really nicely reflective of the American sour aggressiveness without being acedic. Big fruit, sourness, pineapple, white wine, grapefruit juice. Backend is touches of grapefruit juice, rind, and touches of rich sour fruit juice. Really nice. Just on point. Richly and agressively sour without being acidic. Quite nice. Really damn nice actually. One of the better Jackie Os offerings for sure, fairly complex, richly sour, without being offensive. Nice.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared at a local tasting, thanks Matt! Pours a hazy golden orange with a bubbly white head, the aroma has a ton of funk and vinegar, a little bit of fruit, the flavor has a nice sour front end with a little bit of wine and vinegar notes as well, really dry finish, kind of different but I really dug it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bottle. Total gusher! The bottle was in the fridge for two weeks without movement and then opened and gushed a good 20% of the bottle. Pours a hazy orange with nice white, frothy head. Aroma is acetic sour with some slight fruit notes. The sour nose is overpowering. Taste is refreshing but overtly sour. Very strong acetic sour that burns the enamel off. Not overly complex and I donít get a lot of barrel character but this was a nice and refreshing drink. I could drink this one at a warm summer BBQ.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bottle, shared by alexsdad06. 2012 vintage, bottle 223/244. Bottle gushed a bit when opened, but nothing too troublesome. Hazy darker orange - yellow color. Bubbly slightly off-white head. Some loose lace. Very nice oaky tart nose. Seeing red wine notes in the aroma. Great tart taste. Not over-the-top sour, but a very nice amount. Medium to bigger body. A nice slightly sticky viscosity to this. Great long oaky slightly vinous aftertaste. Super enjoyable. Looks like this was pouring at a beer festival a couple years ago under the same name. This bottled version was aged in barrels for 40+ months, and I believe earlier version was aged for a much shorter time. Maybe this ought to have a separate entry? Never tried the earlier version, but this bottled version was freakiní great

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bomber to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Caution: this one is a gusher. Looks good; a cloudy apricot with off-white lacing. Smells good too; tart and funky with a nice wine barrel presence. Tastes tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel and a nice, dry finish that still manages to make you salivate. Damn good beer!

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: MAR 26, 2013 2012 bottle shared with Pixachii. This one gushed like crazy when I opened it. Pours a murky-ass apricotty orange color. Tiny bubbles collecting on the sides of the glass, small head recedes to a nice ring. particulate matter throughout. Lemon-lime, vinegar, wood in the nose. smells SUPER gueuze-y. Vinous, but almost perfumey, too. Puckering tartness right up front with lemon-lime type flavors- intense carbonation and then it relaxes very suddenly into a gentle, marshmallowy, vanilla sweetness. the finish keeps on like that for a while with citrusy sourness in the back and creamy sweetness in the front. Think key-lime pie. But a lot better. Holy shit. I wish I had more of this. To drink immediately.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a thick bubbly off white head. Aroma is fruity lots of funk and oak characters subtle malts Iím not used to funky beer on light bready malt. Mouthfeel is smooth and bubbly carbonation. Flavor is great sourness, light fruits hints of Cherry. The malt character is again bready like aroma. Overall I really enjoyed the sour and oak character of this beer, great treat.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 179/244 - Pours cloudy light amber with a thin white head. Nose is vinegar tart, light oak, and a yogurty malt base. Taste is the same, though not as tart up front. Mellows out a bit and has an oaky, lemony finish with some overpowering tartness that masks everything else. Sharp carbonation and a bit fluffed up body. Good stuff, but a bit too tart.
