On draft for Brew Week in Athens. Cloudy, with a modest hop aroma that promises more bite than the beer delivers. The head is medium height, but laces well. The Body is medium, with less hop than anticipated. Overall a good session beer.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dogbrick (6033) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 11, 2009
Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a lightly hazed pale orange color and has a thin light beige head that diminishes steadily. Top sticky ring of lacing with short strings underneath. Floral hops aroma with notes of malt in the background. Medium body with flavors of floral hops and earthy malt, plus a touch of fruit. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

On tap at the brewpub in Athens - Pours amber and somewhat cloudy with a tall offwhite head that stays pretty well. Aromas of floral hops, and a bit of caramel malts beneath it. Light airy mouthfeel with a good bitter finish. Nice brew...
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 donvitozou (141) - memphis, Tennessee, USA - JUN 29, 2006
the only brewpub in athens. theyve recently started brewing again and are expanding their selection. each batch is slightly different, this recent opa (june ’06ish) is very hoppy. starts and finishes bitter. has a nice golden body and decent white head. fairly high abv content. a heartier pale ale than what you would expect. definately worth a try.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 jdubilla (12) - Athens, Ohio, USA - JAN 10, 2006
I go to OU and live less than 30 seconds from O’hooleys. Only "brewpub" in athens although they only brew one beer at a time. I was pretty dissapointed with their OPA, they have brewed much better in the past. this beer looked good and had some nice head and lacing. The aroma was pure yeast, and the taste was likewise with some hints of pine. It was not hoppy like a pale ale or IPA should be.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 krisbierjaeger (844) - dolores, Colorado, USA - JAN 27, 2003
nice little brewpub in the college town of athens, ohio. friendly and informed wait staff. tried four or five of the cellar temp products, this one was the pick of the litter: 6.8 abv., and 79 ibu, chestnut appearing in low light, and clear. pub pours seldom offer much head, and this was no exception, just a ring of suds with a dappled orb in the middle like a little foam island. big cascades aroma, not far from the hoppy heft of a sierra nevada. nice drink, good carb and moderate sweetness but bigger finishing bitterness.
