COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oil of Aphrodite is an American double stout with an astounding texture. Multiple different chocolate and caramel malts from all over the world give this viscous brew a colossal character. Belgian candied syrup and locally harvested black walnuts build upon the fortified character, boldly standing up to its voluptuous body. After spending two months aging in stainless steel, the oil was placed into a rum barrel. The oil rested in the rum barrel for an additional 8 months, creating an amazing brew worthy of goddesses and gods alike. A beer passionately created to transcend your glass and provide a truly memorable experience.

12.7 oz bottle. Dark brown with tan froth. Nose is molasses, rum, candied nuts and plum. Oily medium body with a tingle and some heat. Taste is walnuts, rum, golden raisin, chocolate and wood. Needs some mellowing to shine.

375 mL bottle shared by Spencer. The pour is a medium to dark black with a thin ring of darker tan head and no real lace to be found. The aroma is really sweet. There is a nice booziness here the roast takes a back seat as does the discernible walnut aspect. The flavor is good. There is a nice sweetness and a good roast that is overshadowed by the sweet rum. There is a little barrel but the rum sweetness dominates. The mouth feel is thin and watery. There is minimal carbonation and a slick quick fading aftertaste. Its sweet with a touch of walnut and a sweet booze out the back. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Received as an extra in a trade. Thanks AMCimpi! This is a very unique beer that I find difficult to rate. Pours a deep brown to black color with a thin creamy light brown head. Aroma is sweet, black licorice, roasted malts, rum, nutty. Sweet and nutty in the flavor. Thick and creamy mouthfeel. Overall, a very nice beer.

12.7 oz. bottle supplied by StFun -- many thanks! Served at 52 F and opened on a particularly breezy partially sunny afternoon. May or may not have been blasting Chemical Brothers 1997 album, "Dig Your Own Hole" on a Sony surround, as I decadently sipped the sooty liquid from a just-dried snifter. But If I was, you can bet your cigarette and chewing gum money that I only managed to put my dancing shoes on for "Piku". Honestly: And I thought Id be deliriously lost in, "Lost in a K-Hole" 23 seconds into the song. That bass, dude. Fuck. But I was down for the count 17.5 seconds before "Setting Sun" arrived on the speakers. It was unquestionably a sad moment in Radarsocks groovy history.Just, no.

Oh, yeah...gotta rate this unmovable object."Fear shrouds, but I, in your dreary, upset eyes, linger. I linger like a wounded, unfriendly beast come to sexily destroy you while you sleep like an opium drugged adolescent ready for dreams to occur in your head about winning the approval of Midwestern coaches, seducing pretty brides, and making a good living in a good life. I am still here -- and you should know that."
One of my favorite lines. Do you know who it possibly could be? Guess. If youre right, Ill give you a beer.If youre local, Ill buy you one from a bar I haunt.
Rawr. RAwr. RAWr. RAWR.
Brocoli. BRocoli. BROcoli. BROColi. BRCOCOli. BROCOLi. BROCOI. (I like brocoli. If you dont like it, you must be a fucking communist.)

To oversized snifter, it pours a purplish-tinted dark brown/black combination, wityh which a light khaki-ringed head barely 1 fingernail in length stood.

Aromas of smoked butterscotch, floral hops/flowers, salted caramel (unexpectedly explosive on the nose), dried dates, walnut butter, blue agave syrup, and some pipe tobacco.
Tastes much the same with the addition of chocolate almond milk, roasted soybeans, coffee syrup, and sage.
Rum barrel oak, vague cooking spices, straw, and yeast experienced by swallow.
Alcohol showed no mercy; very flavorful beer but its strength shot out of the dugout right from the get go.
Nice clean finish, though. The bitterness (from the nuts and the hops) definitely stays a while, but the chocolate and rum virtually disappear upon swallowing the beverage down your throat. <Id like to give a shout out to my pal, Sandy Plunkett, whom had done the artwork for this bottle. Wonderfuly talented man. Grew up with his wisdom.
