2013 Bomber from trade with DrSilverworm. Bottle 225/276, Batch 113. Pours pitch black with a small dark brown head that fades quickly and collects at the edge. Very nice aroma of deep roasted malt, nuts, dark chocolate, candi sugar, and light alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet, balances nicely with ash, dark roast and bitter chocolate. Taste of nuts and coffee sometimes too. Finish is very roasty but there is definite alcohol presence that is a bit off-putting. Mild alcohol burn at first but became much bigger as the beer warmed. Mouthfeel is very thick and creamy. Overall, really good except the noticeable alcohol aroma and taste. I still very much enjoyed drinking this. Thanks Christopher.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Caterwaul (20) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 25, 2013
Shared with Pixachii. Pours inky black with a creamy, mocha head. Leaves brownish ’oil’ trailing down the glass. Small bubbles- frothy. Recedes to a thin pancake and retains. Smells like walnut and coffee. Big aromas of dark cocoa, coffee, nuts- but all balanced so it’s not overpowering. Drinks super smooth. Super creamy. I can’t stop drinking it. Chocolatey mocha and walnutty goodness. Medium-full body with good sweet-bitter balance. I seriously can’t put it down. Send help.

Bomber to oversized snifter (shared with the Mrs.; thanks for muling this for me, DrSilverworm!). Batch ’13, bottle #229/276. Looks good; pitch black and viscous with foamy mocha head that dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes good too; chocolate malt with a nice presence of both the walnuts and the dark Belgian candi sugar. Nice on the palate; rich and smooth. This is great beer.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Sheerbrewing (117) - Athens-Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 17, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 18, 2013 On tap on the brewery side. Pours an opaque black with medium thick tan head. Aroma is rich with roasted malt, chocolate, and walnuts. Flavor is bold, big malts, dark fruit, chewy body, medium carbonation. Overall this is a very drinkable stout, the alcohol is hidden well under a big malty body with nice additions from the walnuts and Belgian candi balanced nicely.

20th September 2011 Opaque black beer, good tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry. Very modest carbonation. Smooth dark malt, not bitter or roasty. Mild smooth coffee. A little lactose sweetness. Some fruity tones start to come through but the dominant flavour is christmas spiced orange. Just a trace of roasted nuts in the smooth finish. Unusual beer!
