RBWG@RLRL-growler– pours a light brown head and black color that sheets the glass. Aroma is dark malt-roasty/coffee/chocolate, some hops. Taste is dark malt-roasty/coffee/chocolate/molasses, nutty, secondary earthy/grassy hops bite. Not my style, but nice.

Opaque black beer, good tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry. Very modest carbonation. Smooth dark malt, not bitter or roasty. Mild smooth coffee. A little lactose sweetness. Some fruity tones start to come through but the dominant flavour is christmas spiced orange. Just a trace of roasted nuts in the smooth finish. Unusual beer!

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a black color with a small frothy brown head that lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted nuts, candy sugar and alcohol aroma. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Heavy bittersweet roasted black malty flavor with a heavy bittersweet and small alcohol bite finish of long duration. This is a standout beer.

Growler… RBWG ‘10This beer rocks!... Pours as black and thick as old engine oil with a small, khaki head that’s gone in a flash. Dark, carbonaceous bouquet – deeply roasted nuts and malts, blackstrap molasses and charcoal. Full-bodied and oily with muted carbonation. Hearty dark chocolate, dried plum and Cuban espresso flavor engulfs my tongue and palate until it finally fades a touch and then exits stage left. Growler courtesy of darkguardian!

Bomber poured a translucent dark reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of milk chocolate, roastiness, black walnuts, carmel and vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of milk chocolate, black walnut, carmel and vanilla with a smooth lingering milk chocolate finish.

Bottle. Pours opaque with a short, fizzy tan head, short retention with no lacing. Aroma and flavor are heavy malt (cookie, chocolate, toast), tar, coffee, wood, prune, and heavy bitter hops. Full body, medium warmth and carbonation, sweet texture with a dry finish.

Bottle via a trade. Pours really thick with a minimal fleeting head. That said the body coats glass like iodine. Aroma is nutty, coffee, vanilla and licorice. Decently boozy. Flavors are boozy with notes of ash, tobacco, roast and nuts. Oily mouthfeel, light bubbles and very thick. Just a bit dull for what I was expecting. Flavors didn’t jump out.

Hand bottle from moejuck. Black pour. Very small brownish head. Aroma is a roasted malt and walnut lovers dream. I get some biter chocolate, strong coffee beans, and some molasses. Flavor is roasty and hoppy. Walnuts, molasses, prunes, chocolate, coffee, hops....damn this is tasty as hell. Wow.
