3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DrSilverworm (2733) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 2, 2013
22oz bottle, shared by alexsdad06. 2011 vintage, # 66 of 216. More hazy, slightly darker orange color. Little bubbly off-white head. Dotty spread of lace. Really interesting nose... Both oaky and orange-peel. Nice tart taste. Good oaky, citrus-orange flavor. Medium to bigger body, very light carbonation, but good smooth slightly creamy texture. More dry finish. Rindy. Very tasty, unique, oaky sour.. Drinking good right now

Bomber to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Looks solid; a cloudy orange with razor-thin white lacing. Smells solid; Clementines and oak with notes of wheat, hops, and spices. Tastes like it smells with some tartness and a solid mouthfeel and a dry finish. Solid beer.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 FlacoAlto (3450) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - MAR 10, 2013
Sampled March 2011; RBWG
The beer pours with a pale, wispy head that sits on top of a lightly hazed, orange gold colored brew. Aromas of orange, vanilla, spicy / peppery oak, and a light tartness are noticeable up front. The oak character has a chardonnay sort of like character to it, and really the barrel influence is so dominant in the nose.
The beer tastes lightly tart, is quite dry, and has lots of oak and woody spice notes to it. There is not a lot of orange character in the flavor, but there is a hint of weak orange-juice in the finish. The oak character is just way too big for the base beer; this ends up being quite unbalanced in the end, though it is not horrible by any means.

Bottle shared by craytonic. Thanks Matt.
The beer is orange, with very little head. The aroma offers candied oranges with a mild hop presence. Subtle oak in the flavor, with more sweet oranges. Hop presence is there, but muted. Low carbonation, with some lingering sweetness. Overall, mediocre. Not a repeat.

20th February 2010 Hazy amber beer, light white head. Orange on the nose. Semi dry palate. Immediate fresh orange and orange marmalade. Trace of woody floral dryness. A little lime like citrus before the finish and a limey bitter aftertaste. Nice straight ahead fruity beer.

22 ounce thanks to ogglethorp. No carbonation. Orange and tangerine. Some tart apple. A bit puckerish. Trying to remember where I’ve had a similar tartish taste. Decent overall.

The beer is pretty much flat with no head to speak of. It’s a cloudy orange color. The citrus aroma is pronounced from the get go. Initially it has a nice orange/tangerine aroma to it, but as it sits for a little bit, it morphs into a cooked orange peel sort of aroma. The flavor isn’t very good, either. It’s surprisingly watery and surprisingly bitter (from the fruit, perhaps?). Overly sweet with the same cooked citrus fruit character. I don’t really get much wood character out of this.

Tasted on 1/14/12 from a capped 650mL bomber bottle shared by Curtis McArthur, big thanks! Pours clear bright orange with no real head, but just a thin collar of lace. The nose is dry brett barnyard, with some orange peel, floral orange blossom, along with caramel and dill oak. The flavor is very dry, dominated by funky brett, some hops bitterness, orange pith and blossom, and vanilla, caramel, and some dill. The body is fairly full, with nearly no carbonation, and a very long bitter hops, orange peel, and oak treated finish.

Bottle 26 of 216. Flavor is olive oil, vinegar. Sour and astringent. Very medicinal. There is some Orange, bit it is kind of like an Orange scented household cleaner. Not a fan at all.
