On tap at Back Country Pizza poured a hazy gold with a small lingering off white head. Aromas of straw and paw-paws. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of straw, paw-paws and light spice with a smooth lingering paw-paw finish.

Draft pour at the source. Pours a hazed yellow with a white head of foam. The aroma has a soft fruity presence with a mild acidity. The taste is softly sweet with a sour bite. Medium carbonation and lighter body.

10oz on tap at the brewery. Golden hazy color, with virtually no head. Wonderful kind of tropical pale fruit aroma. Get white grape, pear, fruit skin aromas, mildly peppery. Wheat, and mild berliner-type funk -- less than in other examples. Very enjoyable overall though. Good doughy bready malt in the finish. Moderate to bigger sour taste, lighter sweet. Light to medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Light slick texture. So refreshing overall, this is a perfect beer for the morning after tasting 36 different beers. Beats waking up with orange juice. Very fun, tasty stuff.

On tap @ Backcountry Pizza. Orange pour with a white head. Kind of sugary and fruity. Lemon, pear, and sweet tropical fruit. Kind of a solvent note, though. Flavor is on the sweet side. A lot of fruit: pear, tropical notes, apple, and lemon. Tart lemon juice, some solvent, and a touch of chalky astringency. Didnít care for it much.

Draft at Jackie-Oís on the brewpub side, served in a tulip. Pours a hazed light gold color with a small white head. Notes of lemon, sourdough, straw, pear, white grape skins, and lactic funk. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a tart, dry, clean mouthfeel. Not my favorite of the Berliners here, but clearly still very nice overall.

Rating #5000. Only fitting it should be a beer Iíve been desparately wanting to try ever since I found out there was only one keg of the first batch and it was never available at Jackie Oís. On tap at Jackie Oís 9th Anniversary Extravaganza on 12/6/14. Hazy orange pour with a medium white head. Aroma of creamy wheat, tart lacto, citrus and tropical fruit. Tropical fruit flavor with lacto and citrus tartness before a creamy wheat finish. Nothing has topped the original for me yet, but this is my favorite of the treatments so far!

On tap at the VIP session at the 2012 Hill Farmstead Harvest Festival. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head. Smells of fruit punch, sweet fruit, light funky yeast. Medium bodied, sweet, a touhc of acid, fruit. Crisp lactic acid, sweet tartness. Long fruit and acid with a touch of wheat on the finish.

Huge thanks to Pud for the hookup! Very inviting cloudy gold pour, modest and pert carbonation. Funky nose, quite dry in places but revealing some suggestive fruit in others. Lustrous mouthfeel, think and fulsome. Flavors are really nice, with a bit more sweetness in there than most Berliners. Overall, itís also a little less acetic and has more lactobacillus than usual, but that makes for a nice, vigorous changeup to a style I wish was more common.

On tap at the Hill Farmstead vip night. Hazy golden pour with a nice frothy white head that dissipates rather fast. Huge tropical fruit and nectary fruit cocktail, finishing with tutti frutti and mandarin. Excellent lactic acid sourness. Medium body with beautiful acicidy and a dry slippery finish. Really enjoyed slurping this one.

In short: A full body, tart and very wheaty Berliner Weisse with plenty of tropical and exotic fruits flavors. Very good.
How: Tap at Hill Farmstead brewery.
The look: Cloudy blond body topped by a small white head.
In long: Nose is fruity (tropical fruits, exotic fruits) over nice musty and farmhouse notes. Taste is full of wheat, tropical fruits, exotic fruits, medium tartness, smooth lactic acidity that is tasty but never aggressive, light sourness. Very comfortable full body with plenty of soft bubbles. Heavier body than more Berliner Weiss but remains very refreshing. I canít say if it really tastes like pawpaw because I canít identify the taste of pawpaw. But if this what pawpaw tastes like then it is the perfect plant to use when making beliner weisses because I thought everything was very harmonious in this beer. Lovely beer. Had quite a few glasses this beer, and yes, drinking so much beer may impair my judgment and my walking and speaking capacity, but drinking so much also makes me a kickass driver, I even won a demolition derby competition, and the fact that nobody else in the parking lot knew it was a competition doesnít diminishes my accomplishment.
