Im pretty sure this was on the board as "Shade Abbey". It poured a dark brown or amber with a small white carmel head. Smells like maple syrup/waffles and butter. Slight bitter with a bit of sweet. Good beer for any season. A bit too bitter for an Abbey. I found it was tough to get through this entire beer even though it was served in a snifter.

On tap at Jackie Os. Pours a moderate amber color with a good white head and a bit of light lacing as it heads down the glass. The nose carries a bit of lightly-sweet and toasted bready malt. Lingering light earthy/floral hop scent in the background. The flavor is lightly sweet with some bready notes. Some hops are there, but nothing overpowering. As it warms, a bit of banana in both the nose and flavor. Well balanced and pretty drinkable. Light to medium body with a smooth finish. Good carbonation. Not quite as out-of-the-park as the dubbel and tripel, but still quite good. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 05-05-2011

Sample at Jackie Os on 2/5/11. Hazy amber in color with a medium off-white head. Aroma of banana, caramel and a bit of citrus. Flavor is caramel malt with a bit of banana and finishes bitter with some citrus influence.

This poured a cloudy light yellow color with a big fluffy white head. Aroma was lots of banana, clove spiciness, and yeast. Flavor was very light and fruit, not too spicey, but lots of yeast in their and light banana. A very nice belgian single.

Sample at the Jackie Os Bottle Sale/ Stout and Big Beer Fest on 02/05/2011. The beer is a slightly hazy orange-gold color with a thin off-white head that recedes quickly. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus and yeast. Medium body with flavors of sweet yeast, malt and bananas. The finish is fruity with a yeast aftertaste. Above average overall.

Pours a cloudy, golden/copper color. 2/3 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smesll of yeast, citrus (banana), sweet malt, slight tart malt, and slight spice. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of slight tart malt, slight sweet malt, yeast, slight hops, and citrus (banana). Overall, a good blend, body, mouth feel, and aroma.
