22 ounce bottle thanks to a buddy of mine stopping by. Wow! Finally get to try this one. With all the talk of it being infected, we were both a little worried, but this bottle must have been lucky, because it was awesome! Pours a somewhat hazy dark copper color with a velvety head of khaki foam. The aroma has notes of dark fruits, figs, dates, candied fruits, vanilla, coconut, oak. The taste is more of the same with the barrel character and the dark fruits of the base beer working seamlessly together. Thick body with soft carbonation. Just an overall great beer.

Bottle shared on 5/11/13 for Annette’s birthday. Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of bourbon, caramel, cherry, toffee and rum. Malty and bourbony flavor with caramel and black cherry character turning to chocolate and blackberry before a grape and alcohol finish. Complex and delicious.

HMOG 2014. Call it the excitement around the bottle, call it a still awake palate, or maybe the fact that I brought the beer, but this was amazing. Great nose of vanilla, nonoverpowering whiskey, oak, sweet ripe fruits. Taste was a decadent and beautiful mix of a great american whiskey or that age (in a fridge) did it well, but this was amazing. If you for some reason have one of the 300 bottles, drink it now. Share it. I know the 15 people who had some really dug the shit out of it.

HMOG 2014. Westmeister you dog. This was exceptional, incredible, smooth, and aged perfectly in the barrell and the bottle. So smooth with vanilla and wood and whiskey melding in with the chocolate and roasty malt. A little bit of spice pepper on the bak end as it warms a bit. I am still thinking about this one days later.

Bottle, courtesy of MikeTD, its PVW so it must be >4 right? well in this case, yes it was a fantastic beer, with mild hints of cherry, vanilla and woody burn.. just well balanced, the color was a bit lighter than I would have expected but still fantastic

Maroon-waxed bomber to snifter. Looks good; a mostly opaque caramel with thin light beige lacing. Smells good; cherry, bourbon, and malt. Tastes like it smells, only better, with a great mouthfeel. Fantastic.

Bottle shared in line at GTMW ticketing. Thanks to...whoever. Dark brown, slightly ruby pour with a wisp of tan head. Noticeable alcohol legs. Supremely smooth bourbon on the nose, vanilla, oaky tones, fig and plum. Not much residual candi sugar, which is nice, dark winter fruits, and a pleasantly present bourbon. Slick, smooth mouthfeel. Outstanding, the highlight of the day.

Staff Bottle. Poured a clear brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy dark sweet fruit and woody whiskey alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth sticky texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet bourbon flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Standout complex brew.

Bottle 237/300 The beer is brown with a thin beige collar. The aroma offers bourbon and roast. Smells nice. Vanilla and brown sugar with bourbon and hints of chocolate. Quite tasty. Medium bodied with fairly low carbonation. Another fine beer aged in PVW barrels.
