Draft on pub side pour is very dark with a creamy tan head. Aroma is smoky and strong malt with some toffee. Flavor is very full lots of roastiness and the smoke is not to strong. Overall I think this is a well balanced robust lots of strong malt to cut the smoke.

Draft. Poured dark brown with an average brown fizzy head that was mostly lasting with very good lacing. Moderate smoke malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet smoked flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration. Complex good beer.

On tap at the brewpub, served in a shaker pint. Awesome-looking. Near-black brown color, beautiful light brown super-thick head that just stays put. Generous thick sheety ring of lace. Lighter, very crisp and smooth carbonation. Definitely a massive oat aroma, which does well with the subtle smokiness. Definitely interesting and exceedingly drinkable, despite the massive aroma. Great combination. Taste is a nice smoky sweet. Tried the regular and nitro versions back-to-back, I personally prefer the Nitro

Draft @ Jackie O’s. Pours dark brown in color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma has light smoke with much of the base beer coming through. Roasted malts with some creamy chocolate. The flavor has good balance between the oatmeal stout base beer and the smoke from the peated malt. Good roasted malt, chocolate, hints of coffee, light smoke with mild sweetness. Pretty decent beer.

Smoke ya oat. on tap at jackie o’s.. Ave stouty black pour with lighter edges... Semi-roast
and chocolate nose... Big roast, semi-sweet choc and coffee through
the middle with a semi-smokeliness.. Nice with decent flavor and a
smooth creamy consistency. Kinda liked this one.

From the menu: "Smoked oatmeal stout."
Pours a very dark brown color with a single-finger of an off-white head and a bit of retention followed by a nice ring of lacing around the edges. The nose carries a bit of smoke as well as some nice roasted malt and chocolate notes. Hint of coffee in the background. The taste is not overly smoky, instead letting the base beer shine a bit with the smoke adding a nice complexity. Good roasty feel and body, drinking quite well at a fairly-low ABV and especially for a smoked beer.

This poured a very dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma was roasted malts, light smoke, and some sweetness too. Flavor was a nice typical stout with light to medium smoke flavors, not overwhelming but enough to tell it was there. Good Stuff.

Sample at the Jackie O’s Bottle Sale/ Stout and Big Beer Fest on 02/05/2011. Pours brownish-black with a medium khaki head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Smoked malt and coffee in the nose. Medium body with flavors of roasted coffee and oats with a smoky undertone. The finish is toasty and smoky with a malt aftertaste. Above average overall.
