Pours a super dark reddish brown with a decent khaki head. Aroma is kinda weak, but I’m gettin a lot of malt, some brown sugar, and caramel. Taste is creamy and nutty, roasty. Its not too bad but its not outstanding either.

Draft sample. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate roasted oatmeal, sweet coffee aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Solid roasted oatmeal sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid complex brew.

Poured on draft. Pours a translucent brown with a thick khaki colored head of foam. The aroma has some definitive chocolate notes and some oatmeal. The taste is chocolatey sweet and smooth oaty goodness. Light on the palate yet full in flavor. This is a great brown ale.

On tap at Jackie O’s. Served in a sampler glass. Pours a moderate brown color with a good off-white head. The nose is pleasantly hoppy with notes of toasted malt, bread crust, and chocolate in the background. Flavor is similar. Bitterness and light sweetness and very drinkable. A big hit.

Pint at the Public House on 5/19/12. Darkest brown to black pour with a thick tan head. Roasty, caramelly and slightly nutty nose. Malty and creamy flavor with a touch of buttered toffee and nuts before a roasty finish. Nice brown ale.

Served in a shaker. Hazy brown appearance, thin white light tan head. Very nice roasted aroma, chocolate but more bitter than sweet. Thin body makes this one superbly drinkable, great texture with a quick finish but an excellent aftertaste. This is the first brown ale that I’ve actually been impressed by.
