3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle thanks to Alexsdad06 ! Pours a deep rusty amber color with a couple fingers of khaki foam. The beer is a blend of sour fruit, layered buckwheat honey, bourbon, vanilla, sweet cola nut. This beer is teetering on infected would be my guess. There are lots of dark fruit that are leaning on the tart side of the spectrum and that tartness is not melding well with the long sweet honey backbone. The bourbon heat, vanilla smoothness and burnt caramel flavors save the backend of the beer but it just seems a bit disjointed... Hmmm.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
A- Pours a deep browish hue with a small, tan head.
S- Lots of honey, wood, dark fruit.
T- Huge honey notes, dark fruit, hints of toasted malt.
M- Thick with medium/low carbonation.
D- The honey notes were much too pronounced for it to be drinkable for me however I can see how some might like it.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pours dark brown. Nose caramel, rich malt, some vanilla, strong wood, and hint of booze. Taste actually some tart up front, then caramel, honey sweet, and wood. Finish woody mixed with a little heat. Thick mouth.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle pours a translucent, garnet amber with some cloudy, beige head. Nose of fresh cut honey comb, booze, vanilla, butterscotch, caramel, some hand soap. Flavor is very sweet, butterscotch, bourbon, vanilla, honey comb, a little lemon/lime soda, malt, brown sugar, some heavy brandy. Big, full bodied finish. Still a little hot. Even though this was a bit boozy, I still very much enjoyed this.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
22 oz. bottle, sent from St. Fun (thanks Josh), pours a deep dark mahogany with a medium beige head. Aroma of wood, honey, caramel and vanilla - quite strong and boozy. Flavour is very alcoholic and barrel heavy, with notes of wood, bourbon, vanilla, booze and honey. Extremely boozy and heavy. Not very complex and very difficult to drink due to the booziness. Yet another ridiculously over-rated big boozy BA barleywine. Not for me.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2010 vintage, bottle 194 of 276. Lightly sour aroma. Opaque brown beer, and lightly carbonated, fine for a barleywine. Some bourbon and brown sugar. This beer foes bourbon better than most, which I typically find unpalatable in my beer. Fairly hot palate.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle, shared with brew3crew. 2010 vintage, 5 / 270. Totally hazy hazy dark brown / red color. Chunky particles in the body. Minimal khaki head, dots of lace. Medium to bigger body. Very dry texture. Very light carbonation. Light sweet taste. Pretty boozy. Alcohol head in the finish. Light floral aroma, honey. Wheat, caramel malt base. Bourbon barrel influence lends nice wood notes, and vanilla. While cold, it was harsh. But as it warmed and moved, this got way better. Nice.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Murky brown pour with an off white head. Wonderful caramel and honey aromas. The bourbon is taking over. Undercurrents of smooth caramel malts and honey. Like everything from Jackie-Os, the body is thin and watery.
